I have seen nothing from you or anyone else which says the sheriff's office will NEVER move into the old Women's Hospital.
Man, you are one of a kind, you accuse some one of being out of touch and then spin things to change the subject.
The fact is I didn't say the sheriff would never move into the Womans Hospital. I just said the current sheriff wasn't on board with the move and he had moved elsewhere.
Again I was right and you were wrong. Admit it and move on.
And I hope you brought Kip his coffee on time.
Now you find someone else to argue with you one what the future may bring, I'm not.

You lost; White never put the bill on hold or withdrew his bill. That was proven.

No, you didn't. You wrote:

You obviously forgot (there's that memory problem again) I linked to this same article supporting my statement that White put his bill on hold.
BTW, what was the outcome of his bill? It was voted down 4-1. So I guess we'll never know what his intent with the taxes really was.

My original post;
You weren't even involved to you butted in.
But no, you had to tell the world I was out of touch and you were the supreme being here.
The current sheriff was never keen on Kip's plan, he did move into a new HQs, and what the future holds only time will tell.
Now get to work, Kip needs to ask you a question.

You need to tell the Sheriff
He just opened his own new HQ by the airport. I don't think he wants in.

Mickey called it; there are no such legislative terms as "hold" or "withdraw".
Look it up, sprocket won; Mickey said so.

Business doesn't like uncertainty. People with a lot of money at stake don't want to be governed by some rump group of malcontents who have never organized anything more complicated than a little league game.
However, there is little uncertainty about increased taxes in the new city if SG became a reality. And the Mall, being one of the highest, if not THE highest, assessed property in the SG footprint, would bear the brunt of any additional property taxes.
Boe, Ammorosa and the other council people who are whining about the Mall's owners playing "politics" are just being silly.
It's not politics on the Mall owner's part, it's a sound financial and business decision for them.
ETA:
quote:LINK
Also petitioning for annexation with the mall and hospitals is Level Ventures, which owns a 90-lot subdivision of single-family homes off of Anselmo Lane across Bluebonnet Boulevard from the mall.
The subdivision is a key piece of the annexation puzzle because it abuts the city limits and only properties that are contiguous with city limits are eligible to petition for annexation. Level's petition, therefore, makes possible that of the mall.
However, attorney Charles Landry, who represents Level Ventures, says his client's petition request has nothing to do with politics or a desire to try to derail the St. George incorporation, per se. Rather it was a sound business decision.
"Like everybody they don't want the uncertainty of what may happen in the St. George area," Landry says. "Now, with the annexation they have a predictable situation in that they will be part of the city and part of the city-parish government."

I don't disagree that businesses don't like uncertainty and some businessmen would lean to joining the city of BR.
As the shot at the SG people being malcontents, so were Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.
Now I'm not trying to say the SG people fighting for better schools are nearly in the class of our founding fathers; but to run them down simply because they do not like the status quo and are frustrated with the way they get the short end of the stick all the time.
I've never been for a new city, I've always been for a new ISD. I'd take the city to get the better schools if push came to shove.
Instead of calling these people names, maybe you should listen to their side of the story and quit listening to people that do not want them to succeed so they call them racists, and other demeaning terms.
Many are good people who have worked very hard to get people to sign their petition. They are in the grassroots for the most part and they are not big time politicians.
Sure Bodi White and some others have tried to help them, but for the most part the leadership are regular people and not politicians.

Mickey posted
quote:.
And just to educate everyone, "withdrawn" and "hold" aren't even legislative tools. Bills can be deferred and tabled.
Tabled means that no vote shall be taken on that motion. Deferred is, per the LA Legislature glossary: "A legislative instrument scheduled for hearing by a committee may be voluntarily deferred upon the request of the author or member handling the instrument. An instrument voluntarily deferred without objection may be rescheduled for committee hearing."
So this entire argument is totally ridiculous. In most cases, when the term "withdrawn" is used, it means deferred because the bill has not been motioned to put it to a vote yet. Deferring a bill does not automatically kill it indefinitely
You lost

I never used the term "hold" as a legal legislative term. I was quoting the headline of the article I read about Boss Hogg's decision, Mr. Joke.
Why don't you write the Business Report and tell them that the word "hold" is not a legislative term and they need to get their story straight?.
I'm sure they would like a good laugh out of you, too.
