standing water

Not more than ten years ago climate change was the root cause of drought in Florida drying up Lake Okeechobee and now there is so much standing water that malaria is spreading?

Warmth and standing water cultivate mosquitoes. Mosquitos carry disease.

Mosquitos carry disease that they get from interaction of biting people who have the disease. It takes both.

The people are carriers and the mosquitos are the disease spreading vector.

You realize there is a lot of swamp in South Florida, right?
Or are you debating that mosquitoes don't breed in standing water?

I was shocked that a 50ish year old friend said they got the mumps. I still don't believe it.

Drought in Florida? Maybe for a few weeks in February, other than that the whole state is standing water.

Not exactly. Not every mosquito can transmit malaria, only a certain type in NA.

I don't recall but I think so since their goal was to eradicate that mosquito, right?

I think it was supposed to get the male mosquitoes to die just after birth or something.

No. I was looking for a wet market in Orlando.

Not just the Mexicans, the Hondurans, the Guatemalans, the El Salvadorans, the people passing through Central America from South America.

And your folks just waive them right in.
