That's a bizarre take given the Chicoms did it first with nobody else's prodding. That was TDS?

Yes we can agree there. But contracting the virus isn’t a damn sentence to death, look at the numbers because it’s far from that.

But it's extremely contagious. More cases = more death, no matter how small the percentage of mortalities may be.

Allowing the virus to run rampant would collapse our economy too. Pick your poison.

more detail please.

I’ll let you do your own history lesson on the usurping of individual rights by the government in the era of Jim Crow and the criminal activity of FDR as it related to Americans of Japanese heritage.

Hilarious malaprops notwithstanding, what are you asking? To prove that it's very contagious? Or to prove that untold tens of millions of people getting infected with a bad respiratory virus would cripple our economy?

No, I’m asking YOU.

You’re the one that chimed into my thread.

OK.

I think it's utterly batshit and void of anything resembling logic to say that the reaction to this is fueled entirely by people not liking Trump. He is the most powerful human being on Earth. Don't you think he has a small say in how people respond? Why are he and his supporters going along with this plan to try and take him down?

I disagree with that, and it’s ok.

I’m basing my opinion off of the behavior of the MSM and other politician’s behavior over the past 3 years. They’ve been proven wrong time and time again.

Or shall we say, precedent

I hate the media and politicians as much as anyone, so you're preaching to the choir there. But that doesn't answer my question as to why Trump would not only willfully go along with, but outright encourage some kind of concerted conspiracy against him and his golden goose, the economy. Shouldn't you be directing your vitriol towards him in large part if you don't like the way things are being handled?

You’re not understanding my point at all. Maybe I wasn’t clear when I said he was forcefully put into a no win situation.

What do you think the media would do to him if he actually spoke the truth and said this is being blown way out of proportion?

How do you feel about it? Do you think what’s happening to the economy and to people that depend on it fair? Is depending on the government to live for those people justified in this case?

If you don’t believe any of this virus shite, then go out, go shopping and go back to work. Mingle and rub shoulders. Have at it..

Well they hate him and are going to shite on him no matter what, right? Why doesn't he just do what you seem to think is the right thing? Sounds pretty spineless to me.

I think life isn't fair. This is a really shitty and tragic situation and there's really not much getting around it from my view. Two options: 1) Let the virus spread and infect who knows how many tens of millions of people and kill hundreds of thousands of people and crash the economy or 2) take drastic measures to slow or stop the spread of the disease and crash the economy, but limit the deaths and exposure. I'd take number 2, personally. Neither one is particularly appealing, but again, this is really shitty and tragic situation.

Then shut the whole fricking world down every year for flu season.

I hate to be so blunt but there’s no difference. The reaction to this virus is absolutely ridiculous and not necessary.

We disagree apparently and that’s ok.

Totally - walking out the door everyday is a risk - you have a much higher chance of getting killed in a car than this virus - this shut down is moronic and %100 a world wide media creation to get Trump and stop the US resurgence and golden age Trump was ushering in.

There absolutely, objectively is a difference. You're entitled to your opinion but not your own facts. Our healthcare systems are not prepared for this and it's showing and it's going to get worse. Talk to people who are living and working in it.

Explain it to me then so I understand. What’s the difference now vs 10 years ago when 61 million Americans had H1N1. Why is there such a drastic reaction now compared to then?

H1N1 didn't have the mortality rate of coronavirus and wasn't as contagious and we were better prepared to take it on then.
