Willing to bet the majority can't tell you why it's a threat. Only that they've heard it's a threat.

Aside from that, my other major concern is that TikTok is a threat to the already room-temperature average IQ of Americans.

We wonder why China is handing us our arse in relation to academia and education, while we use their social media apps that make us even more stupid by the minute.

I honestly wish the one third of Americans that doesn't subscribe to any of this crap, could just secede along with some prime farmland and let everyone else woke themselves straight to hell.

i think the real threat is how it mentally conditions us to depend on small, repetitive dopamine hits and ultimately reject delayed gratification.

The other possible threat is the videos we tell the algorithm that we like could be used to build social profiles of us. Those profiles could ultimately be revealed to the public in order to shame us into compliance.

China uses the video to monitor infrastructure development/construction, troop movements, security assessments, etc. they are lessening the need for covert intelligence gathering and just farming it from citizens openly posting it on the net.

I always thought the touristy types that like to take enormous amounts of pictures were doing just that
