Thought we could break up the Trump vs DeSantis monotony with some Louisiana political election news.

A new poll shows Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry and Democrat Shawn Wilson continue to dominate early returns in the Louisiana governor's race, while Republican Treasurer John Schroder saw some upward movement as voters' second choice.
The WPA Intelligence poll was paid for by Republican Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser's campaign.
It also showed Nungesser, who's running for reelection for lieutenant governor, with 42% of those surveyed, Republican former state Sen. Elbert Guillory of Opelousas with 9% and 42% undecided.
Nungesser had considered running for governor but opted out of that race and made peace with Landry after a meeting between the two settled an ongoing public feud.
In the governor's poll, 35% of those surveyed picked Landry as their first choice, followed by Wilson with 25%, "others" with 17 percent and 23% undecided.
Wilson is the former transportation secretary for Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is term-limited and can't run again during this cycle.
WPA reported that no other candidate reached 4% in the poll, but didn't break down the others.
The firm did, however, ask voters for their second choice.
In that survey, Schroder led with 8%, followed by Republican former Louisiana Association of Business and Industry President Stephen Waguespack at 4%, Republican state Sen. Sharon Hewitt, Landry and conservative independent attorney Hunter Lundy, all with 3%, Wilson with 2%, Republican state Rep. Richard Nelson with 1%, "someone else" at 7% and 68% undecided.

It’s Landry’s race to lose. Don’t love it but better than JBE

Wish we had a better candidate for Lt. Governor.

A runoff between Landry and Wilson is what we will get.
Great job LA

Yep, and NOLA will somehow get out the vote to keep D in office.

Only if the Republicans stab each other in the back and their voters stay home. They need to back Landry if he comes out on top and prevent a democrat from backing in 3 times in a row.

Can’t wait for the same old horseshite with Landry. Never change Louisiana, never change.
