Was the salon owner saying San Francisco has turned into a third world country. People are fleeing the city and homeless people have taken over and are defecating everywhere. Businesses have boarded up and gone for good.

Sounds like SF and Manhattan have a lot in common.

Are their high earners bugging out too?

My SF friends are renting vacation houses in red states, and working remotely

Fine by me, until they start trying to turn those red areas into the shithole they left.

Marie Antoinette caught on surveillance video getting her hair washed in a Salon ordered closed to the public. Violated the San Francisco mask ordinance.

Let them eat cake

As vindictive as she is, she’ll probably never go back to that stylist

SF is un-affordable and unlivable at the same time. Further California is the 5th largest economy in the world and can't keep the lights on. On the 21st and 22nd of August, Friday and Saturday I believe entire swaths of the state sat in the dark with no air conditioning. Why? Simple because Newsome and the dems have declare war on fossil fuels. Shutting down everything not part of their wind/solar dream. Including one of the two monster producers of reliable and cheap power, the massive nuke complexes. And the second is scheduled to go very soon. "We miscalculated a bit" says ole Gav, LOL! Well yeah.

He also made no friends with the explosion of covid-19 in the state. He made a big to do about shutting down gyms and churches while allowing protests and their huge rallies to go on. But he did arrest a single surfer riding his board alone and made a big scene. And he covered a very popular park with gritty sand where moms took their babies. That'll show 'em.

But to show he has a heart and a head for drawing tax paying citizens he executed an order to award homeless free hotel rooms where the homeless can smoke the free cannabis he gives them along with other drugs. Needless to say people are fleeing like mad while equal numbers of homeless are arriving to replace them.

Some are conservatives, some are quite liberal.

I haven’t spoken with them about the riots and the shutdowns. I don’t know how the liberal ones reconcile their views with what they’ve experienced.

Sitting in Lake Charles Right now on generator power, I heard Entergy got the gas turned on at their big local station today. It won’t be long before electricity starts creeping back throughout the city.

Now, imagine if we had to rebuild windmill farms and solar arrays. Then how long would it take to get the same grid back up from its current condition? Possibly months longer.

Anyone who strives for a fossil fuel-free energy network before its equitable to one is a damned fool.

This. They're fleeing due to drugs/crime and taxes. However, their ideology isn't changing.

We were under the threat of rolling blackouts for close to a week. It never happened in my part of town but the threat was made. What’s sad is that SoCal was causing this due to the sheer number of people there and the rest of the state threatened because of them. In my area we were close to 10 degrees warmer than LA. A few years ago a friend of mine had his “smart thermostat” taken over by PG&E where they controlled the temp in his house for a few days during the summer. It’s crazy how and what they can do without your consent. All in the name of energy savings and being green.
