I have lost 3 friends. All over 60. I have probably known 50 or more that were "diagnosed" with it but recovered. A whole family of 5 had it last week - parents around 40 and 3 children ages 14 - 2. But, I live in a smaller city than Houston.

C'mon man... You know 50 people that have had COVID?

I'm sorry. But I don't believe you.

All 3 that I knew were ventilated. None were vaccinated. The first 2 were before the vaccine and on ventilators for weeks. The 3rd was over 70 and unvaccinated. He was on a ventilator but only for several days before he died.

That sucks!
1. Was either a true outlier, which can happen, see flu
2. Or no medical conditions that you or even they didn’t realize they had unfortunately

52 years old. Spent the last three weeks in the hospital. Last two on vent.
Passed a few hours ago.

That's a shame. The guy I know at BR Gen MidCity, about the same profile, who was in the ICU for about two weeks, even got to be on pressured O2 100%, but he's gotten better and was moved out of ICU yesterday. Looks like he will survive.

That's unfortunate and I'm sorry to hear that.

agree with this

I know maybe 5 who have had the virus, none serious, none hospitalized, no fatalities.

I'm probably pretty close to that, if I think about it hard enough. I don't know anyone who definitively died from it, though. I "know of" one or two, but nobody personally.

Well, I just gave you 8 so I only need to come up with 42 more. I go to a large Church, belong to a large Sunday School class, belong two Bible Study groups and am on email prayer lists from two pretty large Church retreat groups. I can think of another 10 just from my SS class. One of couples DIL had monoclonal antibody infusion because she is pregnant just a week or so ago. I may need to revise that number upward come to think about it. Oops, just thought of another 4 from my immediate and extended family.

FDA too busy worrying about vaccines when there is a viable therapeutic with sufficient ph. 3 data to support it's effectiveness in stopping the deadly cytokine storm that occurs with covid. They've been sitting on the EUA application for Humanigen's Lenzilumab (monoclonal "humaneered" antibody) for almost 3 months now... Ridiculous IMO

I'm pretty sure I could come up with 50 people I know who have had it. I can look out my office door and see 3 people who have had it right now, and I can go out in my warehouse and see 2 more right there. Then, I can pick up the phone and call my Nashville office and speak to 2 more people there who have had it; same in my Birmingham office. That's 9 people, and I've only covered the family business I work for.

ETA: Do you just not know very many people?

You didn't give me eight of anything. You specifically said,

Again, I don't believe any of your story.

Three that died and a family of 5 equals 8. I don't care if you believe me or not. I not going to go back through a year's worth of emails and texts to give you an exact number.

So, you know eight that have died and 50 plus with it that survived? It wiped out a whole family of five? That's your story?

you will never have that information.
her DNA. blood type.
and it's always possible that a given person gets a NEW MUTATION that kills everyone with some DNA she had but she died and no one else gets it.

22 downvotes for this?

Wow.

Well, this is not about your friend you loss. She is with God now and in a better place, hopefully any family she has can find comfort in that.

This is about your need to seek attention on her behalf and you should be down voted for it.

So sorry for your loss...

I happened to have my yearly physical today. I am vaxxed just got the second dose yesterday. My doc said GET VAXXED and is not one that is a company man. He came from the hospital of emergencies from covid all weekend.

Since I was just X2 vaxxed a covid test would not be accurate.

As nuts as it is I had all the symptoms today he has seen, sinus infection, headache, cough, sneezing, runny nose. I got an antibiotic injection with something that helps the lungs. I feel better already. I should have asked what it was a cocktail of.

I believe the govt is too pushy pushing the vax and it makes them look political because they are. I also believe none of us will ever know why some die from it and some don't.

I'm sorry. I know two people that passed overnight Saturday night from COVID.

One was in 60s with plenty, plenty of other medical problems and honestly I don't think she had more than 2-3 years left in the tank even if she didn't contract COVID.

Other was 24 years old and in great shape with no medical conditions.

I just don't understand.
I don't think anyone knows...
