Looks like the dems found yet another judge to circumvent the election law in GA runoff.

A Georgia judge ruled Friday that early voting can take place on a Saturday in the state's Senate runoff election between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and Republican Herschel Walker.
quote:
Warnock's campaign, along with national and state Democratic groups, filed a lawsuit earlier this week, challenging the secretary of state's interpretation that counties can't hold early voting on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger had previously said counties could hold early voting that day but his office later backtracked. Raffensperger's office cited a preexisting law that prohibits early voting the day after a holiday, which is the case for Nov. 26 as it falls immediately after the Thanksgiving holiday.

"We disagree with the court’s order and look forward to a prompt appeal," Raffensperger said in a statement per WaPost.

A politicized judicial branch will destroy the country.

1 fricking judge. ONE person decides these shenanigans.

Sorta off topic, if it takes 60 votes to break the filibuster, what’s it even matter if the senate is 51-49 with a Republican house, how will they get anything done. 51 is way less than 60.

They can still appoint more leftist judges since the filibuster no longer applies to judge appointment.

Can’t Clarence Thomas put a stay in this or something?

There is still an appeals process, and Raffensperger says they will appeal.
The problem is that the 26th will be here before you no it. They need to get on the ball if they want to appeal because I don't know how many appeals they can get in before the 26th.
ETA: I went ahead and added Raffensperger's comments to my OP.

Good thing Mitch put an emphasis on winning the Senate

Should direct that all votes.on that day be segregated and not counted.
They can vote.
Doesn't meet they have to be counted

I didn’t see the judge’s explanation or the reasons behind Raff first saying it was ok then changing his mind, but I’m assuming it’s because the list of legal holidays in Georgia include Thanksgiving day only, not Black Friday. So Saturday would not be immediately following a holiday.

So then what’s the 60 number all about?

Tell the judge thanks for his ruling. The current process will remain in place until such time as any appellate process is completed.

Hopefully he does that since this thing could go all the way to the GA Supreme Court and maybe the SCOTUS. Hopefully they'll won't get a leftist judge on appeal, and won't have to worry about it. But segregating the votes would be the prudent thing to do.
But then again, this is Raffensperger we are talking about, so him actually appealing is kind of shocking. Him directing that all of the early votes in question to be segregated would be really shocking coming from him.

It was his decision to not allow early voting on that Saturday (after first saying it was ok) so not sure why it’s surprising he will appeal this.

This guy’s a state, not federal, judge. Obama had nothing to do with him.

Dems ALWAYS have a judge that gets them what they want. We rarely if ever do.

This is a state judge interpreting state law about a state run election. Why would Thomas get involved?
