How can anyone want to be a leftist?
Things the Left promotes
1. Killing babies
2. Teaching sexual inappropriate things to young kids
3. That people can be whatever gender they choose, even if it doesn’t match their biological parts
4. Open Borders
5. Blacks are incapable of taking care of themselves without government assistance
6. Oppose school choice
7. Believe in forced vaccinations
8. Are against free speech and approve of censorship.
9. Against voter ID’s
10. Believe more government is the answer to all questions
11. Believe in expanding the Supreme Court and eliminating the filibuster if in power.
12. Believe we should defund the police
13. Believe it’s ok to use violence if it promotes their cause
14. Believes the government never has enough taxes
15. Believes guns are the problem instead of the root cause of violence
16. Advocate for the rights of criminals over victims
17. Push globalism at the expense of America first
18. Believe In gaslighting
19. Believe teachers should have more say so in children’s lives than their parents
20. Believe sexual reassignment surgery and giving hormones to young kids is a good thing.
21. Believe in destroying the traditional nuclear family.
22. Believe the ends always justify the means
23. Believes in science only when it fits their narrative.
24. Against God, religion, morals and values
25. Promotes homosexuality
26. Promotes Socialism and Communism
27. Believes transsexual drag queens reading to kids is a good idea

Because they either don’t believe that’s what they’re doing, or because they have a fundamentally different worldview.
Understand that as appalled and confused as you are by them, they are equally so about you. Now I happen to agree with you much more than them, but it’s not hard at all to understand how they get there. And from an objective, rational perspective you hold certain beliefs that are every bit as absurd as the wildest leftist ideology. In general the wild views you hold just cause less societal harm.

I agree, which I why I tend to side far more with the religious right than the far left politically despite not being religious.
Religion often adopts beliefs and lifestyles that appear beneficial, even if it’s practitioners didn’t understand why when they were adopted. It’s a “right things for the wrongs reasons” scenario in many cases. The left embraces nonsense based largely on emotion which lead to contradictory and nonsensical worldviews.

The common progressive leftist has nothing to be proud of, they have achieved nothing, so they hang their hat on "helping" others through rephrasing of all the issues you mentioned. To the progressive leftist It's not killing babies, it's "women's rights". It's not open borders it's "asylum for the less fortunate" and so on ad nauseam.

So where did all the global flood stories come from. The 8 that is always spoken of in almost all of them. Even in the Epic of Gilgamesh is a flood story supposedly one of the earliest stories told. What’s interesting even in that Story Gilgamesh and Enki-Du go visit someone, a great man, favored by God that Gilgamesh thinks can tell him how to live forever. Who did they go see? utnapishtim, also referred to the Lord of Aratta to the Babylonians. Where exactly did the favored man of God’s little boat land? Oh that’s right on Mount Ararat.
