The party lost its way though.

They went full retard and alienated a lot of their traditional base.

Another reason is that what was liberal 15-20 years ago is conservative now. A lot of people on here dislike the Patriot Act. Rand Paul is the leafing critic of the War on Drugs. Antifa is the biggest proponent of segregation. The Democrats support the individual mandate and oppose consumer choice in health care. Trump wants a less interventionist foreign policy, which was once a liberal wet dream.

My favorite example: THOMAS SOWELL. Former black panther, now conservative lion Sowell was not a member of the black panthers. A better example would be David Horowitz who was a Communist who collaborated with SDS, SNCC and the Panthers until they murdered his girl friend.

Damn... re-read bio. You are right. Silly error. I like horowitz but I like SOWELL better. His quotes are like a poison pen.

Sowell is great and he took a LOT of shite when he was writing conservative stuff in the 70s when leftists just dismissed him as a sell out working for 'the man.'
His work became respected in the 80s. I especially like his writings on immigration and modeling among all countries and all immigrants. It's not like the US is the only country with minorities.

Some immigrants succeed and others fail. Some add to a host nation and some subtract.

Yes, me. When I was 25 I started working in a place that basically gave away services and product worth hundreds and thousands to low income and indigent people. At least half didn't use the free items which lead to their abuse of the services. It was obvious their station in life was due to their chronically poor choices in most cases. It was obvious tax dollars were basically being flushed away.

I was going to say the same thing. Once Daddy stops paying their bills and they enter the real world.

I love then I hear young people say "where is all my money?" After getting their first paycheck. And realizing after their bills that they are broke so why can't they get a Louisiana purchase card.

A good start is Migrations and Cultures, 1996.

My daughter turned 13 today because I stood up to that liberal ideology and protected what was mine.

Wow, grandma wanted to kill her. Good for your stance. What does gm say now?

Totally agree. I remember a little over 13 and half years ago living in Japan and my girlfriend tells me "I'm pregnant, and my mom wants me to have an abortion."

That wasn’t really about women’s rights though. It was about your filthy American seed being planted into their Japanese baby. We don’t hold the patent on racism. Lol.

How common are abortions in Japan?

I used to rock a Che Guevara and CCCP shirt in high school. I was a pretty far left Democrat. Now I'm a center-right conservative and registered Independent. It happens. Becoming an adult and experiencing the real world changed things for me.

Lol! My first thought when I read the title of the thread was of SFP. I’ve been here long enough to remember when he was a delusional left wing kid.

Then he graduated, I guess. Started working for a living. His conversion was fairly sudden. It was glorious to watch!

Here’s to you, SloFloPro!
