The House has nothing to do with Supreme Court nominations.

That’s why your big blue wave wasn’t big.

So what yall saying is that if ginsberg dies, trump can nominate and get approval cuz republicans have the senate and not the house

This.
Constitution: President nominates and Senate confirms.

Plus Democrats do not care about traditions. Example Pelosi getting her pussyhat in a bunch and interfering in State of the Union speech for political purposes.

Thank Harry Reid (D-Nevada) former head of the last Democratic controlled Senate, who changed the traditional 60 vote threshold of judicial nominees to 51.

Both of Trump’s nominees have been Reid Ruled onto SCOTUS, and it appears to soon be 3 with RGB!

There's nothing in the Constitution to prevent a Democrat President and controlled Senate from packing the Court.

They'll claim extremists populate the Court as their reasoning.

Civics 101:

Senate confirms justices. house has not part of the process

and after Mitch changed senate procedure rules. only need one vote majority (counting VP's tie breaking vote) to confirm.

Our luck, the world comes to an end 10 years from now, and the only 2 survivors are Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Keith Richards.

If they push a USSC justice through its probably a straight trade. 2020 for a conservative court. Which i have no real problem with.

Something definitely stinks with this story.

Maybe it's RBG's rotting corpse.

Article II (Article 2 - Executive)

Just wondering if they gonna do what republicans did to obama and hold up the nominee

Actually. The Republicans did NOT do this to Obama.

It is entirely different when the "election year" is one in which the occupant MUST leave.

Obama got both his nominees in his first term and might I add, he got them without much of a fight. Kagan got 5 Repub votes and Sotomayor got 9.

The theory that it's the Repubs who cause this whole Supreme court hysteria is a complete myth.

Obama was asked to not nominate a replacement because he had less than a year till the end of his term, they wanted to save it for the next president. The way I feel about it, as long as she dies before November, that's Trumps nomination. The dems should just step out of the way but you know they wont.

If 5he Democrats had controlled the Senate in 2016, Merrick Garland would be a Supreme Court Justice right now. In order to do what McConnell and the GOP did, that party has to be in the majority.

I don't know why this simple fact keeps getting overlooked. The GOP could absolutely appoint a Supreme Court nominee in 2020, because they control the Senate.

If you'd told me in 2016 that I could get Trump, a tax cut, 3 Supreme Court nominees and a complete blocking of the liberal agenda in return for losing 2020, I'd have handed you that shite and rested easy.

Liberals place WAAAAY to much importance on the Presidency.
