The Postal Workers Union has already endorsed Biden.
That alone should be enough reason to shut down mail-in. The people handling all those ballots have a vested interest in who wins.

What if you vote by mail and in person and when they question you you say you never received the envelope to vote by mail, someone else must have filled it out. How will they prove the correct people are actually filling out the mail in ballots?

I agree with that. Now, assuming that doesn't come to pass as it should, just trying to find some optimistic path forward, I do seem to recall the scenario in 2016 wherein it turned out that even though some unions as a singular organization endorses Clinton, many of the individual members secretely voted for Trump. Additionally, just in terms of votes which I know is a different conversation, I recall discussion of the other family members of union members who would vote lockstep with their union voting differently than their union member spouse, father/mother etc.

Again if Trump gets fricked over that bad by some BS mail in voting he might not be powerful enough to rule the free world IMO.
