When did she realize the mistake and did she try anything to fix it before being caught a few weeks ago?

Sounds like it's a little too late to try to claim ignorance. It would be like accidentally leaving an item in your cart that you missed scanning and still hanging on to it once you got home and realized you didn't pay for it. At that point it's theft, not an accident.

Probation and a fine paid by the taxpayers in her future and everybody knows nothing will happen.

She admits she filled the forms out.

She claims she is incompetent and therefore incapable of correctly filling out a simple form.

She is Attorney General of the State of New York.

Good luck.

Too stupid to fill out a loan app? Then way too damn stupid to be a prosecutor.

I don’t know what the penalty is for mortgage fraud? I don’t know if ignorance of the law is an excuse, but I’m pretty sure nothing will happen to her. If it was me there would be consequences.

Whether she committed Fraud or not will be up to the Federal Criminal Court to decide. She should be Prosecuted and have her day in Court.

I am quite sure that she is very much looking forward to being found Not Guilty and clearing her name. I wish her the best of luck during this time in her life of going through the Federal Criminal prosecution procedure.

Mistaken or not, she did it and received a financial benefit from her "mistake".
