The Russians are feeling the pressure and are suffering following the Ukrainian strike on this oil refinery.
Saying: "The Ukrainians destroyed the last oil refinery in the south, in Slavyansk-na-Kubani. It was from there that fuel was somehow being supplied to gas stations in Crimea.
That’s it now... The exodus has begun. There are now 4,000 vehicles queued up at the entrance to Crimea.
Soon people will be leaving Crimea on foot."

Someone should explain the guys that in a territory you want to conquer you switch off a PP by destroying the transformers on the main switchboard rather than the PP core (generators)
1) they burn easily (cooling oil)
2) they are big: replacements will not survive transportation

Well, on the bright side, if the Russians lose their satellite feed, they won't have to look at images like these any more.

Whereas Ukraine had previously targeted oil storage tanks, which can be replaced fairly quickly, the cracking units are a much more difficult proposition. Due to Western sanctions, they can only now be ordered from China.
quote:
It takes about 18 months to build a new cracking unit, with shipping and installation requiring several months more. A destroyed cracking unit may thus take as long as two years to replace.
quote:
Russia has turned to Belarus, Georgia, and Kazakhstan to try to alleviate the current shortages with fuel from their own refineries. It has suspended fuel exports from its own refineries.
It is also shipping fuel from a Russian-owned refinery in India back to Russia.
