Someone should let them know that Pokrovsk isn't important, I don't think they've gotten the info from TigerDroppings High Command.
Hardly anyone here had said Pokrovsk wasnt important. In fact as things have gotten worse for the Ukes there, I’ve seen more reports here on the Pokrovsk situation.

My guess is that is a stabilizer column after the diesel has been desulfurized. It's not uncommon for the top half of such columns to be replaced in turnarounds due to attack of carbon steel by a mixture of H2S and light hydrocarbon gases. The desulfurization (hydrotreating) uses hydrogen to convert sulfur and sulfur compounds into H2S for ease of removal.

It has a main rail line through it and multiple main roads converge at it. Still pretty important as a place needed to launch any future operations from and as a supply hub.

Confirmed by Reuters: The Volgograd oil refinery has halted operations after overnight Ukrainian drone strikes. The AVT-5 unit (3.3M tons/year) caught fire, and the hydrocracker was damaged, cutting the refinery’s capacity by around 20%. This marks the sixth confirmed hit on the facility, the last one on August 14.
And another six are on their way.

(Reuters) - Russian Volgograd oil refinery has halted operations after it was struck by @14reg_army drones.
The primary processing unit, CDU-5, with a daily capacity of 9,100 metric tons, or 66,700 barrels per day - a fifth of the plant's total capability - and a hydrocracker with a capacity of 11,000 tons per day were damaged during the attack.
In 2024 the Volgograd refinery processed 13.7 million metric tons of oil, or 5.1% of the total volume at Russian refineries.

According to "Dosye Shpiona": Over 1,000 Geran-2/Shahed kamikaze drones were destroyed in strike on Donetsk base.
The evening of November 5, 2025, a strike was carried out on the launch positions and storage facilities of Geran-2 (Shahed-type) UAVs located at the Donetsk airport base. The strike involved both cruise missiles and strike drones.
As a result of the attack:
• an ammunition depot was completely destroyed;
• a fuel storage facility was destroyed;
• a UAV pre-launch preparation site was destroyed;
• power supply and communication nodes were damaged.
At the time of the strike, the airfield reportedly housed up to 1,000 Geran-2 UAVs and more than 1,500 warheads.

Sure it has roads and rail to it, but to distribute to where other than it?

It's wild how many different takes you get on this situation.

It may well have fallen but Diesen is a decades long Russian asset reporting from Moscow

Funny I posted a map almost identical to that a few days ago and got called a Russian bot. Not surprising from a bunch that gets their news from Denys Davydov.

Kirill Grekov, the Russian-appointed “Deputy Prosecutor General” of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), was found hanged in occupied Luhansk. The incident is being concealed by local authorities.
According to reports from Petro Andriushchenko, Head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Grekov was a Russian citizen installed by Moscow to oversee prosecutorial functions in the occupied region. His body was discovered in Luhansk under circumstances suggesting suicide or possible foul play. Key details:
- Grekov had a history of conflict with both local officials and residents, which may have contributed to his death.
- The incident is being suppressed by occupation authorities, with no official statements released and local media avoiding coverage.
- Grekov was part of the broader Russian strategy to install loyalists in key positions within occupied Ukrainian territories.
- His death highlights ongoing instability and internal tensions within the occupation administration. This follows a pattern of violence and secrecy among Russian-backed officials in Luhansk.
In 2022, the LNR’s Prosecutor General Sergei Gorenko and his deputy were killed in a bomb blast at their office.

If tweet fails to load, click here. There's no way to spin this ... it's bad news for Ukraine and emblematic of the Ukrainian political failures to properly support the armed forces.

This has been discussed before and you're right, it is an ongoing problem. I believe the key to understanding the effect of these numbers is to understand the difference between the two categories and why the UKR authorities assign some cases as AWOL and some as desertion.
The explanation (or spin...) is that the commanders of these men (and yes, women too, let's not be prejudiced) believe that most will return to their units. These are described as AWOL. The ones that don't return are changed to 'deserters'. The AWOL's just check out for an extrajudicial break to go home to see the wife. Then, after a couple of weeks of that, decide to return to their units. Can relate.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Russians don't have to worry about running out of heat this winter, they just need to move next to a Crimean fuel depot.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that the Alliance is now producing more ammunition than Russia, marking a major shift compared to the early phase of the war.
He emphasized the need to further increase production and accelerate deliveries, noting that dozens of new production lines are opening across NATO countries. The main focus is on air defense systems, low-cost drone interceptors, and artillery shells.
It's over Vlad.

The Alliance has probably been producing more quality ammunition than Russia for a long while.
Ammo isn't solving Ukraine's personnel issues, though.
