Lankford and Coons will investigate Slutkin's seditious statements

I was glad to read the headline, then dismayed to see who'd be investigating.

Elissa Slotkin faces ethics complaint over warning to young Trump staffers
quote:
A government watchdog group has filed a Senate ethics complaint against Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), arguing that her call to deter young people from working for President Donald Trump crossed the line from political criticism into threats against public service.
The Center to Advance Security in America shared the complaint exclusively with the Washington Examiner. The document, dated Tuesday, asks Senate Ethics Committee Chairman James Lankford (R-OK) and Vice Chairman Chris Coons (D-DE) to investigate whether Slotkin’s remarks violated Senate ethical standards.
“Senator Slotkin’s recent statement that young professionals should be deterred from joining the Trump administration is extremely troubling and a potential violation of Senate Ethics rules,” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick told the Washington Examiner. “U.S. Senators must conduct themselves with proper ethics and morality at all times.”
Slotkin made the remarks during an Oct. 13 University of Chicago event with Vox editorial director Astead Herndon. She advocated pursuing “signature cases” involving Trump and those around him.
“I want to look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president but on the people who enabled him,” Slotkin said, according to the complaint.
She said she wanted young people considering administration jobs to worry that doing so “might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don’t want.”
“I want that deterrence message sent,” she said.

Coons will praise her. Wonder if Biden has sniffed his granddaughter anymore.

Didn’t Biden try to lick his daughter while he stood there grinning like a retard?

I hope she’s destroyed. Not just in politics, either. Way past time to stop playing around with these people.

So do I - but with those two 'investigating,' I have very little hope of that happening.

Is that who took out that idiot Chuck Edwards?

I'm not even familiar with who that is, or whether you referring to Langford, Coons, or Slutkin.

Chuck Edwards was the Republican congressman representing the 11th district of NC. He was investigated by an ethics committee for sexual misconduct and ultimately resigned as a result. Now some fig farmer from Asheville will likely hold that seat.
I was just curious if there was any overlap between Congress and the Senate in these investigations and if the same people are often used to investigate these complaints.

I understand now. I have no idea who investigated that dude.
Answer according to grok:
So why are there only two members on the ethics panel now?
Answer according to grok:
quote:
Members of the Committee at the time of the investigation/report (119th Congress):
Chairman: Michael Guest (R-Miss.)
Ranking Member: Mark DeSaulnier (D-Calif.)
Andrew R. Garbarino (R-N.Y.)
Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa)
Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas)
Brad Knott (R-N.C.)
Deborah K. Ross (D-N.C.)
Glenn F. Ivey (D-Md.)
Sylvia R. Garcia (D-Texas)
Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.)

These 10 members (5 Republicans and 5 Democrats) formed the investigating panel.
So why are there only two members on the ethics panel now?

Fair question. Lankford seems solid.
