Edit your title. L.A., not LA.

And how does this prevent so much padding to a Presidential election that the unconstitutional “popular vote compact” might get pushed into play?
Incoming: “ but illegals can’t vote in federal elections” -sure they don’t

Well that’s just not right. How will this stand up in court?

If they really were giving "illegals" the right to vote, it wouldnt hold up.

The tweet above is ridiculously misleading.

To be clear, I am not in favor of allowing non citizens to vote. LA, however, will have a ballot measure in Novenmber thst, if it passes, will allow legal residents of LA to vote on local measures, primarily school boards and other public education measures.

Non citizens will not be able to vote in November. Only citizen voters will decide if non citizen residents can vote in future local elections.

If the measure passes, then the hard work begins. They will need a voter registration process for people to register as non-citizens voters, and that process will need to exclude "illegals".

Then, future elections will need to have two separate ballots; one ballot for State and Federal offices that only citizens can vote on, and a sevond ballot for the local officials that non citizen voters can be included on.

Anything short of those safeguards will not hold up to legal challenges m

I would vote "No" if I lived in LA just based on the expnse and headache of the process.

They can run their state however, but they either need to have separate federal elections or give up federal representation

Let the Mexicans take over California and in 10 years it will the same as Mexico.

Then they will all want to move somewhere else.
