They were caught in a horrendous DEI box that was set up back in 2020 when they named her VP. They had to replace Biden. They just had to. The debate crushed his chances. Most of us that follow politics new Biden was cooked but it hadn't reached mainstream consciousness to the general public until the debate. After that there was no way the Democrats could continue to trot him out there and pretend like he was coherent.
They had to put Harris in his place and no one else because think about it: she was the sitting VP. How can you say she's not qualified? And how can you pull a black female as the heir apparent? That would have completely torn apart the Democrats.
They've been in a no-win situation since the debate. If they could have, they would have kept Harris in a basement somewhere until November, like they did with Biden in 2020. But her numbers were underwater so she had to engage with the American public. After that, the honeymoon was over and this is where we are today.

there is about 6.3 million eligible voters in LA county. On average about 66% of people vote in the US who are eligible. Means they sent out a couple of million ballots to people who dont even want to vote.....or they are being filled out now......

The lack of enthusiasm for Kamala Harris is nothing in comparison to the lack of enthusiasm. We would be seeing if Joe Biden were still the nominee. There isn’t any wrong with her as a candidate. She is a smart and capable person but she is saddled with our economy. The only real job growth is in government. Home ownership is out of reach for many and prices are too high. Biden should have immediately implemented some of things she says she will do in her Presidency. He didn’t so it is hard to believe that she will actually change anything for the better.
America will survive whoever wins. If President Trump wins maybe we can be normal Republicans again after he is gone. If Harris wins it means Newsom won’t get to run for another eight years.

Trump is gonna win the popular vote bigly, and examples like this from California are a big reason why
