On midterm election eve, Arizona Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema came out in support of a position that her liberal colleagues have called racist, ridiculous, and a total political stunt:

Tara Palmeri
?
@tarapalmeri

If you’re wondering how the #Caravan is playing outside the beltway — Democrat @kyrstensinema of Arizona #azsen just told me she supports Trump sending 5000 troops to the border. At Trump’s rally in Tennessee, many said #bordersecurity was their #1 issue

Good move by her. She has nothing to lose. Might as well jump to the middle and see what happens.

Trump has been pointing this shite out at his rallies for a couple of weeks about how all of a sudden these candidates sound like Republicans.

Of course. Why change strategy now? New day, new lie.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t even matter what these candidates believe INDIVIDUALLY. They WILL vote in lock step with the leadership of the party.

It is a sad realization. I USED to be a “vote for the person - not the party” guy. I’ve capitulated to the concept that unless there is a major movement to change a party in a large proportion, it doesn’t really matter what the individual believes.

The mistake that you made was ever believing a democrat.

Sometimes they can sound reasonable, but there is a reason they chose to put that big D after their name.
D is for Deceiver

She will evolve about ten seconds after the election if she wins.

This is why politicians suck.

Take a stand and then have the fricking convictions to stick with your positions.

I gave that up decades ago for federal level elections. Politicians say what they think their audience wants to hear - and the DEMOCRATs have adopted that as their constant tactic. GOP is not quite as amoral as the DEMs.

I adopted the SCOTUS as my first - and most times only - decision maker. That has led me to vote for nobody but GOP since then for anything from US Representative and above.

I've never found it to be a bad touchstone - never regretted any vote.

I've not always been happy with my choices, but there was never any doubt as to who was the WORST choice.

In more detail, they will vote against Trump at all cost

wonder when Nate Silver will run the odds on a freshman democrat senator ever standing up to Schumer on anything substantive?

I have run the numbers and I have a range of 5000-1 to 10000-1 against, which I realize is a wide range but there are statistical vagaries involved.

One thing I can say about her, take off those glasses and she’s better looking than the other candidate.

Seriously though, how in the living frick this race is so close is mind boggling. Has to be Trump hate backlash from McCain supporters.
