Now, pretty much the only time I vote for the individual over party is at the local level. And even then, that goes GOP 80% of the time.

Had the Democrats been reasonable and put him up in 2016, I’d have probably voted for Jim Webb, because I wasn’t terribly enthused about voting for Trump...it was a protest vote against Hillary.

Sadly, there is strength only in numbers. And I could never get my father to understand that. He had personal or longstanding knowledge of all the "yellow dog" local or state level Democrats who never changed parties (and of course became more liberal over the decades, particularly after Reagan). He never voted Republican locally or even state level (except I think he was for Foster), but always voted Republicans for President - every election except 1976.

Pops would be 80 today. I miss him.
