She can do that anyway. She can go home, download the instructions off of the internet and print it out.

They aren’t supposed to do any research or discuss the case with anyone outside the deliberation room. Allowing them and by them the foreperson to request a copy to take home, you’re inviting such behavior to take place. Do you really want jurors sitting at home, googling legal definitions, reading legal opinions on said definitions and then taking notes to bring back physically or mentally into the deliberations? It’s a horrible idea, but this crazy judge seems to have zero idea that he’s opened up that can of worms

She is likely smarter than that. She will just come up with better ways to convince the jury based on legal arguments she finds on the internet.
This judge thinks shes gonna go home and sit by the fire eating some stew and read the instructions by candlelight.

Those lesser crimes are hardly all that lesser either
Each of the reckless charges is 12.5 years max with 5 years max for firearm specification

The way I see it is the judge allowing it adds another avenue for mistrial.
They were already looking at shite online each night if they felt like it, but him allowing her to take stuff home puts the fault on the court versus the jurors for working outside the jury room.

I think it’s pretty obvious now that it’s a one or two person holdout. The problem is one is the foreperson which gives her a lot of power to drag this thing out. The others might not even know they can replace her either.

Apple gives me top stories and news without asking just for being on the phone.
Zero doubt a majority or their spouses are all over media. Maybe 2 out of the 12 have ethics and aren’t doing it.

The entire trial has been public!! The instructions are very clear, you are not to read, lookup, discuss or talk about the case with anyone outside the jury room. That means you’re not allowed to go home and look up very public video of the drone footage as well as look up copies of the very public jury instructions. This entire case is available online but now the door has been opened to make exceptions for this??
