Is the implication here that unintentionally pointing his weapon at someone engaged in an armed self-defense is okay?

Even if it is OK, is such a lack of discipline in firearm handling smart to admit?

witness' civil lawyer had to have gotten ahold of the ADA and the witness during lunch break and tore all of them a new one during lunch break
