The Logan Act.

Jared Kushner is now being reported as who told Flynn to contact the Russians.
KT McFarland is being reported per Fox. If another is reporting Kushner, then it must be a different source. Still, what's the big deal here? Trump coulda told him to call the Russians, this is common practice. Hell, Hillary colluded with the Ukraine's. At what point would is this illegal?

It's not, which makes this even funnier.

NBC news reports that Flynn talked to Kushner about his call with the Russian ambassador about the UN Vote that was about to take place.

NBC says Kushner instructed him to contact the Russians regarding UN resolution vote.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing illegal about it at all.

The question in all this is why did Flynn feel the need to lie to the feds?

But it's also possible that the Justice Department became interested in Flynn's initial conversation with Kislyak on other, less explosive grounds. One leading theory pushed Friday by Democrats involves a violation of a 1799 statute known as the Logan Act. A relic of the John Adams administration, this discredited law makes it illegal for a private U.S. citizen to undermine the foreign policy of a sitting president in contact with a foreign power. No American has ever been successfully prosecuted under that law. Some conservatives urged the George W. Bush administration to prosecute former House speaker Nancy Pelosi under the Logan Act in 2007 when she visited the Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad, when the White House was trying to isolate him. Nothing ever came of that.

notice there are two Trump transition officials
senior transition official = KT McFarland
very senior transition official = Kushner
Now if folks lied about it to the FBI, that would be illegal.

Kushner told to contact Russians
I’m slow on all this stuff, but what exactly is illegal about contact with the Russians? Not trying to “gotcha” here, just sincerely want to hear your thoughts

OMG!! NO WAY!! I can’t believe a senior transition team official would dare tell the incoming NSA Director to communicate with any foreigners, regardless if that’s actually part of his job or not! Everybody should know that Only Democrats can speak to foreigners! Lock them all up and throw away the key!

Per what I posted earlier, Comey's FBI didn't feel as though Flynn lied but that he misunderstood & was confused as things were chaotic at the time. Now Mueller's team sees it differently. Either there are different standards or Flynn told them something else...?
