I think his biggest weakness is no college degree an the college he didn't finish was Alabama.

Especially with the structural budget problems that will continue to force shitty choices.

I think the biggest factor will be Alario.
After Edwin Edwards, this is the last damn person we need influencing anything in Louisiana politics. He and his family have received from the state way more than they honestly contributed.

Why couldn't Vitter run?
Why should Vitter run when Wayne Kenoff is running instead? As Governor, I'm repealing the dumBELL Tax Increases including sales tax on online purchases and I'm limiting any "study" within state government to a $25,000 price tag. No reason any "study" should cost more than that and the associated travel will be prohibited. This is 2018 - we have Skype, facetime, and other avenues of remote video conferencing to get the same job done.
Also, TOPS requirements will be revamped. 24 composite with 19Math and 18English along with a 3.0 weighted GPA. And the recipient must work full-time in any position within the state of Louisiana for a minimum of two years after graduation. If not, they pay 50% of TOPS back to the state at a rate of 5% interest, regardless of credit worthiness. As long as they are earning $15,000 or more per year, they get 5 missed payments every 24 months before their interest rate doubles for the life of the repayment schedule. If earning less than $15,000 per year, they can pause payments for a maximum of 12 months. After that they must continue repaying or face community service time within the state.
Toll booths are going up on HWY 1 and 70 before the Baton Rouge Bridge and Sunshine Bridge for 10 years. Proceeds will build a new bridge in St. Gabriel. 50,000 cars total at $1.50 each way, assuming each vehicle uses the bridge twice a day will pay for a new ~$500,000,000 bridge in Iberville Parish after 10 years. That means by the end of my 2nd term the new bridge is a semi-loop solution that is nearly paid off when I leave office.
Whooptidoo, call me racist. More will like my plan than call me racist.

It baffles me why we don't fund a new bridge/bypass with tolls.

If Kennedy really was not going to run, he had no business waiting this long to announce it. People were waiting months for him to shite or get off the pot.
Or perhaps he did what Scalise and Landry did. He paid for good polling data. Edwards has been a quiet technocrat, working with the legislature to stabilize the terrible fiscal situation he inherited and retaining good people to run state departments. There hasn’t been much turnover or drama.
A majority of reasonable people probably appreciate his approach. If you take off your right wing Poli Board glasses and look at this objectively, Edwards will be very difficult to beat in a statewide race.

JBE really isn't as bad as I thought he would be, considering he is a Democrat.

quote:It’s a four-year punt. JBE hasn’t given LAGOP a ton of material for them to campaign against, but I’d assume that a lame duck JBE definitely will, setting up for a more likely victory next time around.
it does feel a bit like the state gop is conceding

Good. I won’t have to move/or get rid of local tv. I could not stand to look at Kennedy on a daily basis. I do wish he would expend as much energy trying to improve our country as he spends trying to do Gov. Edwards’es job.

Its more than that man. DC is one of the most exciting places on the planet to live, it really is where everything happens. It has everything, history, museums, art, music, theater, a great party scene, world class private schools, fine dining and is populated by educated people that arent fat.
Now, contrast that with Baton Rouge. You can fly down for the LSU games then haul arse out of here.

The only reason Edwards' currently occupies the 4th Floor is because Vitter, Angelle, and Dardenne decided to sling mud in the jungle primary while JBE sat back and watched...then he turned it against Vitter by getting the "moderate" support from Dardenne and enough of the "evangelicals" who didn't want to vote for an adulterer.

Because no politician has the balls to publicly call for tolls anymore. It's all about votes. Screw what needs to be done.
