If what ABC is reporting is true, Trump asked Flynn to contact Russia while he was a candidate. I didn't see specifics anywhere, but if the nature of that request was to have Russia manipulate the election, that is illegal. There are laws prohibiting foreign nationals from contributing to an election.

Try Flynn was asked to contact Russia in December, after the election. Flynn lied to Pence/FBI so he could avoid Logan act BS. Which was stupid on his part.
The President-elect having discussions with foreign governments is in no way shape or form illegal.
