Then you are missing the point. No one is saying she's ever denied her blackness, just that she Identifies as primarily Asian when it serves her, and primarily Black when it serves her. All as she lives an extraordinarily white adult life and Indian-Canadian childhood. The cheap, southern accent in ATL this week was proof of this.

If you hung around any black people whatsoever, you would know that degrees of "black authenticity", skin tone, and where (and how) you grew up are all hotly debated within the subculture. A good example of this would be Drake getting publicly dragged by rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and others for not being black enough.

Now is the perfect time to put her blackness on trial as some newly converted black Trump voters might be swayed by the sudden presence of a black candidate. He's protecting what he's built within that voting bloc. Getting black voters to take a thoughtful look into her authenticity is important in evaluating who best serves their interests. If he uses this as a spring board to scrutinizing her record as a prosecutor in the community, as I expect he will, it will do incredible damage to her campaign.

All this to say she panders. Ok......name a politician who doesn't.

Most of the country will see this as an attack on her race and it will do far more damage than good for Trump.

If it gets them asking the question; "what exactly IS her race?", it'll be worth it (see Liz Warren). Besides, if Trump's base are the seething racists you claim they are - it wont matter. And if centrists are not bothered by the race politics of the left, they wont be bothered by this. This isn't his entire campaign. Its a well timed jab.

I've changed my mind. You aren't missing the point, you are refusing to see it -blinded by your own politics.

You've made the entire conversation into race politics instead of the issues which if you criticize Kamala/Democrats for doing, you've gone ahead and ensured the conversation will be about it.

On the issues, you can definitely make the case that Trump deserves to be president in 2024 - border crisis, inflation etc.

But you've turned the conversation into Kamala's ethnicity which isn't going to be a win at all. Every second we're debating Kamala's ethnicity, we're not talking about the actual issues for why Trump should be president.

I'm sure some are bothered by it but they're already voting for Trump anyway.

This isn't going to win people who are voting for Trump on issues and risks turning them off.

I just don't see how this is a win for Trump at all.

It is actual essential to their politics. If they didn't have racial pandering, they wouldn't have much at all, really.

she's not even the nominee yet. Trump mentions this once, in a clear attempt to freeze black Trump voters, and people like you behave as if this is the entire strategy going forward.

Its so frustrating. When Kamala calls Trump a white supremacist, is it HER entire strategy? Is she gambling with the middle when she does that? See how stupid that sounds?
