Biden / Harris Ticket is probably the most formidable the Dems can come up with

LINK

quote:

The New York Times reports that Sen. Kamala Harris, after bowing out of the nomination fight, is now “weighing an endorsement” of Joe Biden. This news trial balloon comes via “multiple Democratic officials familiar with her deliberations,” i.e. her staff. Is this a big deal? For Kamala Harris it certainly is. The former candidate whomped Biden square in the back of the head during the early debates on his not-aging-all-that-well record on issues of race, particularly school busing. Harris’ critique was an effective one that elevated (briefly) her candidacy and put Biden on the defensive.

An early endorsement would certainly go a long way in mending any bruised feelings lingering from Harris’ sharp debate elbows as she looked to crawl into the race, but does it affect the race now? Not really. Endorsements are a great news hit, but this early in the game where the endorsing candidate is generally backing a like-for-like candidate, it likely won’t move the needle. This isn’t exactly an out of left field endorsement after all. If Harris endorsed Andrew Yang or even Micheal Bloomberg or someone unexpected, then maybe it has more of an impact.

The candidate with the most at stake in the Kamala Harris endorsement is Kamala Harris. It’s one thing to wage a tough campaign and then lose to the eventual party nominee. It’s a completely different thing to lose, turn around and endorse a rival who then gets trounced by the nominee, who takes over as the new de facto leader of the party. That’s a far chillier place to be politically. At 55 years old, Harris certainly wants to run again for something big and there have already been the prerequisite rumors percolating linking her with a possible VP spot on the Biden ticket. An endorsement might help make that happen. But there needs to be a Biden ticket first. And that happening likely has little to do with who Kamala Harris stumps for.

She is on her knees contemplating it.

Sounds like she's applying for a VP.

As an old white guy if Biden is the nominee there's virtually no chance he picks a white dude as a running mate.

Biden won’t pick Castro after the attacks he put on him. Biden and Harris seems to be a more compatible ticket.

100% true if by "mulling" they mean "gobbling" and by "Biden endorsement" they mean "Biden's cock."

It's probably already been decided.

DNC can't afford to put out a ticket with two white people.

Horizontal Harris endorsing the poster family of white privilege (if there even is such a thing). Oh boy, DJT better start panicking now!!!

Bad move. If I were Biden I'd be in the market for a pro bono defense attorney, not a prosecutor.

I despise Trump but Biden can't handle the pressure of the presidency. The guy is senile and you're telling me that he's going to hold the most important job in the United States?

I’ve never understood why people think a damned endorsement matters. I’ve read news stories where people say they’ll be releasing an endorsement for so and so next week or something as if it doesn’t count until then and we should wait with baited breath until candidate x says they like candidate y. Has anybody’s votes ever been swayed by this?

If it's a Biden/Harris ticket and they win, how long before Biden bites it, "from natural causes"?

Harris wouldn’t be a bad nominee because blacks don’t like her too much.

25th Amendment within 6 months of Biden being sworn in.

I've always said that I have a sneaking suspicion that the DNC's plan is to have Biden choose a black woman VP (my guess was Stacey Abrams) for the purposes of intentionally stepping aside should he win so we can finally have a black woman president.

The guy can’t string two sentences together but I agree this could be a scary ticket assuming that Trump can’t KO Biden in the debates.

I picture Biden slurring words and fumbling for the 20th time in 15 minutes at a debate and Trump just shaking his head and saying “He can’t even talk. He doesn’t even have the cognitive abilities to talk.”

Kamala is a former prosecutor married to a white man. I’m sorry, but Black people ain’t voting for that.
