Keep illegal immigrants in the US and the US pays for the wall. That's a win now?

#1. Everything on Trumps wall, border enforcement, and legal immigration demands must be met. If funding or other demands are ever pulled then the program is ended immediately and anyone who is not already at the permanent status is subject to deportation.
#2. Voter ID laws are enacted for all elections of elected officials in the federal government (U. S. congressmen and President). States are allowed to enact similar voter ID laws for local and state elections, but are not required to take up a similar policy.
#3. The participants of the program are never allowed to vote in federal elections. The decision is left up to the states.

This will end in one of two ways:
1. Nothing happens with the worthless Congress and DACA is repealed. The Democrats are actually happy because this will be a great campaign issue.
2. A DACA bill is sent to Trump's desk with zero wall money or better immigration control and he signs it.
There's no leadership from the White House and the Republicans in Congress are the most pathetic group of people I've seen.

Look, when a political opponent insist on walking on his own dick, you let him do it. No compromise.

Exhibit A everyone.

Pretty funny that you refuse to acknowledge that Trump just passed the ball to Congress and put it squarely in their court.
He threaded the needle perfectly here.

His base will never allow him to sign that bill. Endorsing amnesty is a death wish for a republican depending on their job and where they're from.
It will not be veto proof because the freedom caucus will be opposed to amnesty and whatever token immigration enforcement they put in will be opposed by democrats.

Trump can't stand them either which is why he just shite all over them and tied their hands around a hot potato in DACA.
He just told them to go frick themselves.

What did he do to himself? He gave Congress the opportunity to fix DACA while honoring a campaign promise that his base will love.

Well god damn...has your dumbass still not figured out who the swamp was that he wanted drained?. Hint...the lazy arse establishment congress and the senate. Did you think he went up there to become BFF's with those frickers?

If someone has illegally immigrated into the country they are not eligible for citizenship. So they can either accept some form of legal status or get out imo. I don't see how that is not a decent compromise.

The argument has always been amnesty in exchange for border security. That was the deal between Reagan and Tip O'Neal. Tip and the Democrats lied to Reagan and the conservatives and never came back with border security legislation. Fool me once.
This time around just appropriate wall funding (and make it reimbursable via some deal with Mexico, like taxing remittances at 2% and a baby 1% tariff on imported goods from Mexico) and the GOPcucks and Dems can get their DACA for current dreamers.

I'm not aware that there was ever a "deal" between Reagan and O'Neill, but I'm not really interested in arguing 1983 either. My point was simply that this would be a case of two broken campaign promises somehow touted as a victory.

We just need to break the cycle of mass illegal immigration to amnesty back to mass illegal immigration. At least a wall deters undocumented illegals and puts the breaks on mass illegal immigration, especially undocumented. That's the biggest problem here. I don't feel bad about documented illegals like visa over stays and sending them back home. They can just reapply if they want to come back.

I can appreciate that despite the fact that I'm not in favor of the wall as currently proposed.
