Right, that's why nobody is admitting to giving the order to do it and the people who did the work are saying they were told to keep quiet about it.

Too bad you're doing exactly what I said your stupid arse would do in the OP of this thread. Helping create a Streissand Effect.

It's funny, they even get angry at you for not toeing the line they define for the thread.

If you don't agree with them, knuckle under, and insult the OP, you're a gay alter. No questions asked.

The university probably didn’t want it to turn into a permanent memorial or possibly the opposite, a place for nut jobbers to go and celebrate the man’s death. Now it’s just a boring slab of concrete.

I can see that. But wouldn't it just be a boring spot of sod if they went that route?

Ok, after listening to the maintenance man interview I understand this....
They're not talking about paving, they're talking about "PAVERS". Pavers are brick like or in many places a porous lattice type pave stone for irrigation to pass through. To do this you would normally have 6"-8" of a compacted crush stone with another 2" of a compacted sand and Portland cement mix as a finish bed for the pavers (aka pave stone). This would explain why 10" of excavation.

What I still don't understand is why? Only thing I can suppose is the owners and powers that be want to alter the site attempting to erase this event. I'm sure if left as is, people will be souvenir digging up soil.

What I don’t understand is how this isn’t a unanimous first impression. It’s so obviously why they did it

Grass is exciting. Concrete is boring. Obviously.

And again, why would people be told to keep quiet about it?

The glowie explanations are frickin stupid.

I was just observing what was happening and it was stupid. Everyone who signs up for this site has the same right to an opinion. They have the same right to express that opinion. If the little cliques would get a life and understand that just because some people view things differently, doesn't mean they are wrong. That's why it is a good thing to discuss different ideas. Not everything is a conspiracy and not everything we are being told is the truth as well .

Well it's my only first impression. I haven't the gene needed to imagine that there is some grand secret held within the top 10" of soil so nefarious that it should be excavated and paved over in the still of night, immediately.

So apparently after local police told the university that they could just spray the area down with water the FBI stepped in and issued an emergency order to excavate the area and literally pave over it.

Did you even click on the supporting documents before you started out typing lies?

Frank Young, a UVU employee said he was responsible for the redesign AFTER THE SCENE was released into university custody. He alone engaged the vendor, and they hired an architectural design firm to come up with a plan. Not the FBI
quote:

On or about Friday, September 12, 2025, the scene was released back to UVU.

I am the UVU official that helped coordinate the cleaning and paving of the site after it was released back to UVU control. I declare under criminal penalty under the law of Utah that the foregoing is true and correct

We don't want the sod. You can junk that.

* Sounds good, we'll get it out of here

quote:

Thanks. Let's hire a landscape architect to help us plan a facelift for the courtyard area where the event occurred.

Pavers or concrete for the courtyard?

* For a redesign? Or what exactly are you referring to?

I like concrete for ease of maintenance and snow for removal. Could do stamped concrete in some areas to get a good feel.

Where are we thinking the work will begin for tomorrow.

Was this part of the big plan like you were asking? Or a quick change or improvement?

We'd like to start with a 20 x 60 paver pad in our courtyard. Are you coming down tomorrow?

If it were as simple as taking away people's ability to dig up souvenir soil there wouldn't be a need for people to deny having issued the order and for the workers to assure people that they won't talk about it.
