I'd just like for somebody to explain when hiring a lawyer to enter a not guilty plea was enough to bankrupt a millionaire
It's such a ridiculous talking point

Because Flynn doesn't want to withdraw his plea

Didn’t see that. Interesting.

The proceedings don't stop after arraignment

Flynn jr? What did he do?

Good lord. I'm asking for your interpretation of it. google gives hundreds of articles with all sorts of crazy stuff. What is it you think he did that would put him away for a long time?

I'll have to give you props here. Thanks for clearing this up. It is basically housekeeping.

That's fine, you're right to note that yes I'm not someone who makes a living by credibly analysing federal law or ethics opinions, or for short, IANAL. If that's what you got out of reading those documents then thanks for sharing.
I'm not the first to allege that what Flynn did is not just wrong but actually illegal though. Rep Cummings did that a long time back. If Flynn, the retired general and former DIA, did think it was a good idea for a man of his importance and stature (even after basically being fired) to be sitting next to Putin at dinner then that's his deal, although I'm thinking it's our deal too because that's a huge propaganda coup for Vlad. But that's less important than the question of why he subsequently felt a need to deny knowledge of the source of the payments.
Clearly there was some question as to whether he had stepped over the mark of the Pentagon, Senate and FBI wouldn't have all felt the need to investigate his work in Russia. What danger of self incrimination was there when he refused to supply documents to the Senate citing the 5th amendment. You act like his actions are clearly beyond reproach. If so, why deny the payment was from Russia, why lie to Mike Pence, why register as a foreign agent months after the fact? You sure this guy is clean?

quote:Normal people hire lawyers and go to court every day of the week. Saying that Flynn only pleaded guilty to keep his family from being bankrupted is laughable. Anything that would bankrupt him would be because of crimes he committed. Boo hoo. If he didn't commit them, he shouldn't have pleaded out and agreed to cooperate.

Is there another law you would like to discuss or do you just post about things you don't understand? If that's your thing, more power to you. Lots of people here do that.
