We sure lost a lot of paper and plant jobs outside of Zachary in the past year.

Do you not understand how to read the bureau of labor statistics website? How did you graduate from college with such a limited intellect?

Jindal did better is the worst economy in 50 years than Edwards did during the best economy in 50 years.

What percentage of his business is due to government contracts and tax breaks? Just a different form of welfare, called corporate welfare.

Those two states are changing to blue. That's not a good thing.

Oh boy, another libertarian only when it fits their narrative. You can even stay consistent through one thread

Florida isn’t turning blue. Their governor has a 75% approval rating. Texas is turning blue because people from liberal states are fleeing what JBEs peers have created.

Do you understand that nationally Louisiana has a reputation for being crooked politically. That involves BOTH parties. Anyone interested in doing business here is going to question his sanity. Good or bad US economies doesn't mean corporations are going to beat down the doors coming here to Louisiana, no matter which party controls the governors mansion. They know they will face a fleecing. But you keep on blaming all faults on JBE if it soothes your soul.

Knowing the area is going to be corrupt is one thing.

Adding in the highest tax rates in the country plus dicking companies over for their agreed-upon tax breaks is the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

And you're the guy that's voting for JBE who voted for Obama and Hillary and will vote for one of those socialist clowns that democrats will nominate to beat Trump.

Wrong. One of my closest friends owns and energy company, employs over 1k people, lives in LA, and refuses to do business in the state because of the tort laws. You can’t do anything without having 20 lawsuits thrown at you. Alabama has had similar problems but are now destroying us in jobs and economy. Your boy has our educated fleeing the state at record numbers. Keep the emotional push, though, because you discuss policy like someone who is halfway through their 7th grade civics class.

Ok. I get your point. So answer this question. What value to you place on a human life? You want tort reform. An oil and gas roughneck has a set of clamps slip and spin, cracking his hard hat and his skull like an egg. His wife sues the company over the death of her husband and father of her two kids. What is his life worth? Tort reforms mean placing caps on lawsuits. I've seen this happen personally. So answer me. What value do you place on a human life as replacement cost? The LDWF has replacement cost figures on illegally killed wildlife. So what is that value on a human life for La courts to adhere too?

Do you consider plaintiff attorneys modern day priests and the arbiters of present day morality?

Human life obviously has inherent value, however there should be a much more reasonable cap, especially when you’re in a consensual relationship with known risk. Now, there’s no excuse for known negligence, however, this is a relatively small portion of actual tort issue. Ridiculous environmental regulations is just as much of a problem. Your pretending like there are hundreds of people dying per day because of employer negligence is insincere.

Let’s turn this around...

How much do you know about the federal investigation on a bunch of accidents involving 18 wheelers in New Orleans?

The feds are in the process of rolling up numerous lawyers and plaintiffs who faked accidents with 18 wheelers then sued claiming massive injuries.

We’re talking industrial levels of fraud and probably the basis for any tort reform going forward in the state.

No. a woman on her way to work one morning is killed by a garbage truck running a stop sign and T-boning her vehicle. She's married with no kids. Her husband files a wrongful death suit against the driver and company of the truck. Again what's her life worth? If you say cap all lawsuits at 100K, you're saying her life is only worth that. I agree there are far to frivolous lawsuits in Louisiana, I am asking you how do you decide capping monetarily damages in certain types of legitimate lawsuits.
