Neither, in my opinion.
They were once a religious tribe, but they killed their Messiah.
They are not a race. Sammy Davis, Jr and Ivanka Trump are jews.
Today, they are more of a cabal.

Well, this is patently untrue, unless you're going to get into a "1930s Germany" type analysis of what constitutes a "Jew" versus a "non-Jew". In the American experience, we tend to think of the "Jews in Germany" (Ashkenazi) from the German and Polish provinces back to the middle ages.
There are no fewer that 5 LARGE populations of Jews that are genetically dissimilar: Ashkenazi (Germany/Poland/Ukraine/Russia), Sephardi (Spain/Portugal), the Mizrahi (Kurd), Bene (Indian) and Beta (Ethiopian).
Surely you're not suggesting these disparate people constitute a "race", do you?

At the time of these purported announcements from On High, the people in question were simply one tribe living in the area, phenotypically indistinguishable from their neighbors.
I"m assuming you're an atheist, but I'll educate you anyway. God declared that Abraham's seed through Isaac were Jews. God literally declared/created the Jewish race in this way.
He also declared that Abraham's seed through Ishmael were not Jews, but Ishmael would be the father of a another/separate great nation. The Covenant God made with the seed of Isaac did not include the seed of Ismael.
They're both Semitic peoples, with very similar DNA, but of separate declared races according to the Word of God and His will.

Kind of. The word “Jew” enters the Bible pretty late. These people were first Hebrews, then Israelites, then Jews. Jews are a small percentage of what remains of the Israelites (only the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi).
