The thing that absolutely makes me ill when I hear a politician say it is, "I've done very well during my time in office by bringing federal dollars back to my district with these projects..."

I don't give a rat's sphincter about the federal funds he's "brought home." Those dollars were still taken out of MY pocket and about 99.8% of those projects that have "brought those federal dollars home" provide absolutely no personal benefit to me.

I'll be more excited when I hear my congressman say, "I am happy to report that we have eliminated the federal income tax and we will no longer be pilfering your paycheck before you even see it anymore."

We did absolutely fine as a nation for 125 years before the constitution was (illegally) amended to allow the federal government to tax the income of individual American citizens. The 16th Amendment needs to be repealed urgently and a 28th Amendment needs to be ratified that states that members of congress who are in office when the federal budget runs a deficit shall be held personally financially responsible for making up the difference.
