I don’t think a run 2028 is in play at all, particularly for Vance unless he become so hostile to what has happened over the past two years that he is completely alienated from Trump.
If he can do that, to be honest at least in Ohio he’d probably regain support, but not enough to win. Too many variables against him, just like last night. It might open 2032 back up.

Is there a resignation possible from Vance?
Free him up to counter what Trump has done in 2nd term.
Of course he helped sell some of it but he is more closely tied to Trump than somebody like Rubio.
