Jindal used a lot of one time money to balance the budget. He also inherited a $1 billion surplus from the Blanco administration and basically squandered it. Jindal's budgets during his second term were balanced with smoke and mirrors. JBE and Jay Dardenne are now having to deal with the reality of Jindal's fiscal irresponsibility. At least we have a responsible adult in the Governor's mansion now.

I get he got a she situation but he isn't making an effort to do spending cuts. Hell, one of his first acts was to hand out raises to his cronies

Yeah spending a few billion more than the previous administration is real fricking responsible. His DOC and state police is run by morons. He is also using some of the same rainy day funds as Jindhal. He has raised taxes more than any other govonor and looking for more.

Jindal spent too much, but didn't raise taxes. Edwards spends too much, and makes huge tax increases.
It's not too hard to understand that we have areas where we spend too much.

What’s everyone’s preferred spot for cuts?

Jbe sucks m, but let’s be honest the mess isn’t his fault. His unwillingness to make cuts is his fault. Honestly I feel like we need a mix of cuts and some tax renewals.
This mother fricker looked at the tax money we would
Be saving federally and decided to tax a similar amount in state taxes. This mother fricker is a criminal.

State legislations pensions. Public servants should not. I repeat should not be on pension plans for the entirety of their lives making over 100k a year.

That can’t be cut..
Nursing home regs could be relaxed so they would be more in line with the national average.
TOPS could be cut.
Subsidies to movies should have been cut years ago.
Quit handing out the pork to all the NGOs.
To say there is nothing to cut is BS.

And yet, Governor Honor Code has rejected every budget cut idea, no matter what the source, and is seemingly intent on proving that a state CAN tax itself into prosperity.

We could save 100 million on reforms in the nursing home industry but that would stop the cash cow lobbyists donations. Let’s not act like JBE gives two shits about the tax payers in LA.

He's got to balance the state budget somehow. And it's definitely not the way that was tried by those rightwing idiots, Sam Brownback in Kansas and Bobbie Jindal here, who thought revenue was just going to materialize out of the ether from slashing taxes on the affluent. JBE is a responsible adult having to deal with the overgrown child Jindal's fiscal mismanagement. Thank God for JBE! 65% job approval!

Easy amigo. He is a tax and spend liberal. The word responsible can have many meanings...like JBE is responsible for crippling our state economically while using the failed policies of Jindal as a distraction (see Obama’s and Bush II)!
