Problem with having scruples and trying to use them is that people who don’t can clean your clock.

To reference an old British film, a high ranking officer went on the radio in the run up to WWII and their speech never got aired because they said they would rather fight honorably and lose to the Nazis than win by disreputable means.

Later in the film, a war games is held in which he gets his arse kicked through an opposition willing to play dirty, reinforcing the point.

i very much understand that. i come in conflict a lot of times with what i think is right and best, and what my conscience (i.e. the Holy Spirit/Bible/my faith says is right and best.)

I know everybody on here doesn't have that as a guiding principle and I don't hold anybody up to that standard, but for myself, I just can't abide by it.

I hate it, because my sinful nature wants to drive progressivism into the ground by any means necessary.

if i'm going to lose. i want to lose honestly.

in a game of HORSE, i agree. However, losing in this sense means living under Democratic\liberal\socialist\progressive law and taking my money and rights away....F THAT, play dirtier than them!
