Given today's good news, it seems like the logical thing to do.

I can tell you one thing. If I'm positive, they will never convince me to get the vax.

If I'm negative, I'm waiting for Novavax.

Could it have been the flu and called Covid?

If you test negative for antibodies that just means you haven't had Covid recently.

Your body doesn't flood itself with antibodies for every single virus and bacteria you've ever encountered in your life, but it does keep track of what it's found and what's worked out well. You may have had it long enough ago for your body to stop producing antibodies but it still knows how to fight it and will start production on antibodies once it detects Covid 19, or a Covid 19 variant, again.

There were alot of false positives, so who knows. I'm wondering if he got tested or just feels like he had it.

I tested + for Covid in Sept 2020. I work in the bar bizz and at height of the OG strain, it went thru here like wildfire. This time around, the only person that got it was the only guy that didnt get it and he was fully vaxxed. Family is pressuring me to get it, but I'm still under the impression that the antibodies can be called upon.

Unsurprising, our bodies are designed to be efficient. That means it's not going to produce antibodies for every infection you've ever encountered in your life (lots of wasted resources since the vast majority of the time you're not fighting all of those infections.) If it's recent you'll see some antibodies, but much past recent infections you won't see anything.

That doesn't mean you can't fight it off, though. Your immune system can recognize and remember, and will start producing the proper antibodies once it detects an infection it remembers. Hopefully, the new infection is just like the old one, or close enough, for your body to mount another good defense.

But keep in mind, the vax was probably designed for an older strand, similar to the one you already encountered. I can't imagine it adds any significant advantage for your immune system assuming you've already had it.

Also, bear in mind, there are false positives and negatives for Covid tests. A positive test generally means you had it, but not always.

The antibody test is cheaper and a positive means there is no point in the T cell test, which is pricey.

The question is, while a negative won't rule out exposure, it does increase the odds I haven't been exposed and makes it harder to spend $200 for the T test.

I'm thinking my likely exposure was about 8-12 months ago.

Why does any of it matter in the first place? I probably had it last year, but idk for sure and I don’t care. I’m not wasting my time getting tested or finding out if I have antibodies. It doesn’t benefit me in any way. The vaccines don’t benefit me in any way. There’s no reason for me to even think about any of this outside of it all being ridiculous bullshite.

My antibody test had a warning that there are a lot of false negatives. So you may still have them but that vial didn't have enough.

Had a medium case of Covid (shortness of breath, fatigue, fever, etc.) that lasted about a week back in April, 2021. Took an antibody test in August and was still positive. Will continue to get one every month, as I get one free test a month on insurance. Also, looking into Novavax this fall/winter after I test negative on antibodies at some point.

My understanding is your immunity doesn't end when the antibioties go away.

If I get a positive, I won't get vacinated unless something comes out that demonstrated natural immunity wanes after a certain amount of time.

You skurred your T cells and B cells don’t work if no circulating antibodies?
