Polemic

Intentionally making "aggressive claims and undermining of the opposing position".

I.e., "Only racists/bigots/xenophobes support" this or that.

Most often used throughout history for the argumentation of controversial topics in religion or politics.

Not reliant on facts, only fanning flames from a controversial viewpoint.

Just a public service announcement so that everyone knows how to deal with these people.

You're welcome, my conservative-leaning brethren.

Our resident radical leftists here use that tactic all the time. It makes me smile.

Polemics are considered the lowest form of argument.

It's arbitrary conjecture. The best way to challenge it is just to say "why?"

Agreed, I just didn't realize there was a word for it other than "juvenile" or "virtue-signaling".

As evidenced by a response already herein, people may not realize that this isn't just a few leftists that use this tactic, but the whole progressive/socialist movement. It's exactly how Hitler advanced himself in the political realm, ironically.

ETA: I'd venture to guess that most of them don't even realize the mode of attack they are using, they've just adopted it because they were around it.

Saul Alinky's "Rules for Radicals"

Here is their historical playbook. You'll see that DJT has taken a few plays out of this and used it to his advantage.

Polemics

Endless quibbling and argumentation as a tactic to confuse and tire out opposition in political debate. Typically employed by liberal bugmen posing the question "What is a White person" and then continuing to focus on outliers and border examples unrepresentative of a well defined core definition.

I would say this is true about Marxists (who shape shift and re-brand every 10-20 years).

There have been some fine Democrats in our Nation's history.

Saul Alinky's "Rules for Radicals"

I came to post this as well but you beat me to it.

They have a playbook and they adhere to it without self-awareness of their own hypocrisy.

The problem isn’t that someone uses this form of argument, it’s that anyone would believe it was an appropriate form or argument in the first place.

There have been studies suggesting that teaching philosophy in early elementary school is a great way to increase the students’ logical reasoning skills, and I don’t know why different argument types and logical approaches to problems aren’t taught at a younger age.
