Nothing but a trash news organization. Backtracking, spinning, and crawfishing any way they can now.

Fake News's Jim Acosta called in sick today. Doctors are still trying to remove Trump's foot from his arse.

CNN acknowledged last night that they checked it out and agree it was a different Cohen who was in Prague.

quote:

CNN’s Jake Tapper confirmed today that the Michael Cohen named in the recently released and unverifiable BuzzFeed documents did not visit Russia as the documents claimed.

Tapper confirmed on CNN news this morning that the man identified as Cohen in the unverified documents is not the same Michael Cohen who is President-elect Donald Trump’s special counsel.

This is the first report of it I could find.

I don't think Cohen was reported on in the original CNN report.

The Cohen allegation was in the document itself that was leaked to BuzzFeed.

CNN referred to that document in their original reporting. But since I don't watch CNN I don't know if they released or revealed the leaked document in its original form or just talked about it.

As far as I've seen they did not release or reveal any of the details of the document other than (later) confirming that Cohen was not in Prague. They just reported the existence of the memo and did not report the details.

Also, the document Buzzfeed released is not a leaked document. It looks like a lot of people had copies and just couldn't confirm the details so they didn't report it before.

This is actually a pretty good case of media restraint.

Why would they even report the document existed if no one could verify any of the contents were true?

Probably want to back track not just because of the egg on their face but also want an out of the lawsuits headed their way. Not going to work.

Looks like they judged it was particularly newsworthy that the details of the memos were briefed to Obama and Trump. So they reported about that.

MSNBC just reported that the FBI went to the fisa court for permission to monitor communications of 4 members of the Trump campaign team because of suspected contacts with the Russians.

My understanding is that these reports about FISA warrants have to do with applications to monitor at least two Russian banks/financial institutions. Would like to see a little more info on this though.

Wrong.

A "pretty good case of media restraint" would be not even mentioning the story until they could get at least one and preferrably two confirming sources.

What CNN did without any confirmation was yellow journalism at its finest. Really shameful on their part. Fake news.

Clever bit of lying by Brietbart there.

Tapper said this:

quote:

Government source confirms different Michael Cohen was in Prague

Brietbart reports it as this:

quote:

CNN’s Tapper Confirms Michael Cohen Did Not Visit Russia As Report Claims

Everybody and their mama had these documents for a while. Buzzfeed just published them. Many people still won't publish it.

And that's one of the big problems with Brietbart. And most of their readers won't know any better.
