The entire campaign is an attempt to blunt the popularity of craft/local beer. But hey, the average person is pretty fricking stupid, so it might work. At which point they use mead, one of the oldest and simplest alcoholic beverages known to civilization, as the punchline for snobbish exclusivity, you know their target demographic isn’t particularly bright or well educated.
