Syria immediately collapsing back into factional war is the most predictable thing of all time.

It’s strange we have people on this board that prefer this group of 1.9 billion people that’s not going to stop.

Zelensky cult followers on this board were cheering on the terrorists taking over Syria because of the Muh Russia boogeyman.

Our taxpayer dollars funded that shite.

This point can’t be emphasized enough.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) — a key player of the insurgency that ousted the Assad regime —- emerged as an offshoot of the al-Nusra Front. The al-Nusra Front emerged as an al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria like it’s counterpart ISIS emerged as an al-Qaeda offshoot in Iraq. We all know the origin of al-Qaeda:

quote:

[LARRY] KING: Prince Bandar, do you know the bin Laden family?

PRINCE BANDAR: I do very well.

KING: What are they like?

PRINCE BANDAR: They're really lovely human beings. He is the only one. I never -- I don't know him well. I met him only once. The rest of them are well-educated, successful businessmen, involved in a lot of charities. It is -- it is tragic. I feel pain for them, because he's caused them a lot of pain.

KING: What was the circumstance under which you met him?

PRINCE BANDAR: This is ironic. In the mid-'80s, if you remember, we and the United — Saudi Arabia and the United States — were supporting the Mujahideen to liberate Afghanistan from the Soviets. He came to thank me for my efforts to bring the Americans, our friends, to help us against the atheists, he said the communists. Isn't it ironic?

What the Saudi Royal Ambassador refers to as “ironic” is what Ron Paul called “blowback.”

Yet still we have supposed “conservatives” cheering on these same repeated failed interventionist policies — year after year, decade after decade — as if things will turn out differently this time around.

Assad was the good guy, said it for years.
Yup.
People don’t realize the animals that live in those regions. You cannot have western style democratic govt there. It takes a dictator willing to use force to keep it peaceful

Exactly. Essentially there are a bunch of different factions that don't like each other. The Assad's just said, "find a way to live peacefully/in harmony, or we'll kill you"

Freaking Democrats just don't learn. Cause what they did to Iran by taking out the Shah has given us plenty of time of how that region works best. ATP it's legit on purpose though. The muslim brotherhood getting their way, spreading their pedophiles cult around the world as people are worried about 20 million Jews.

Likewise, where is the criticism of Israel? Israel also played a large part in the ouster of the Assad regime and thus are in some ways responsible for the slaughter of religious minorities that was inevitable after such regime change operations.

Where is the “Israel First” Brigade? Make no mistake, Israel played a large part in the ouster of the Assad regime.

It's been widely reported that Turkey was the primary orchestrator and benefactor, but we know many would prefer to blame Israel.

Certainly the Turkish occupation of Northern Syria played a decisive role. Yet it isn’t an either/or equation. Netanyahu has indeed claimed credit for Israel’s role in the fall of the Assad regime.
