I have a pretty good suspicion that this is how they felt. Leftists control most everything.

Too bad you don't know how to post an image on TD. It might have been funny?

Conservatives are judged based on vague ideas that the person judging couldn't care less about.

Voting republican is an action.

"You're white and a conservative. You suck" is little different than "You're Black..you suck

This is the most ignorant statement in your entire rant.

quote:

You seem to be claiming that all the lib/dem derps are individually judging conservatives based on "their personality, their decisions, their actions"

Like voting republican? Having conservative views?

quote:

"White Privilege" take into account the individuals "Personality, decisions, and actions"? No, it doesn't.

Of course not, thats why white privilege is awful and should eradicated. I'm not sure what you're point is here.

quote:

What are some of these ACTIONS AND VIEWPOINTS in your opinion?

Again. Voting republican. Having conservative views. These are ACTIONS that you're being judged on.

No I'm claiming that being discriminated against for being a conservative is NOTHING like being discriminated against for the color of your skin. One is based on points of view the person holds (aka:choice) and the other is based on the color of someones skin (aka:not a choice).

The problem is white men have no protection under the law...they have no groups to protect their rights...they are way worse off than the black.

Pretty sure pre-civil rights era blacks could get straight up murdered, could not use facilities, etc.

Not really the same thing.

Being white is definitely an advantage in the justice system. If you were a white perp about to go on trial and you could snap your fingers and be black for the trial and sentencing, would you do it and really be better off? No you wouldn't, and no you wouldn't be better off. Nobody who says "actually blacks have it better" would ever trade races if they had a chance and they know it.

It's like Louis CK says in one of his standups: If race was a box you have to check to "re-up" every year, I would choose to be white every time. Not because white people are better, but because being white is absolutely better in terms of living in our society. Sad but true.

No, they felt infinitely more terror. I think it's highly likely that you will sleep just fine in your air-conditioned room tonight with a completely full belly (despite all of your whining and melting.)

What you are feeling is mild consternation that you know won't actually impact your day to day life.

What blacks felt was visceral fear of physical violence - nearly every second of their life, but ESPECIALLY in your scenario of being accused of a crime.

You need to go out for a walk and just enjoy your family. You seem to have somewhat lost it.

Probably not. Conservative men, especially conservative white men, have most of the institutional power in the country. Even if they have lost some instruments, an assertion with which I do not agree, they have the vast majority of the wealth in the country. There isn't any comparison to black people pre-civil rights, as there is no systematic discrimination coded into law. You might feel aggrieved, but there isn't any comparison in my view.

I am not trying to put my frustrations on the same level as blacks who were discriminated against in the past,

In that case, the answer to:

Is this how blacks felt in the pre-civil rights era?
is obviously no.

So they weren't angered when harm fell on a fellow black and the white person charged with the crime was set free because the justice system was stacked against them?
Ok.
