Almost every MSM “expert” is loudly and proudly claiming that if you wear a mask in public, you’ll save lives. In fact, by wearing a mask, you are probably endangering your own life.

Before you tar and feather me, note that I am a physician. I do not play one on TV like Anthony Fauci or Deborah Birx. I spent thirty-six years wearing a surgical mask on a daily basis. And it always felt so good to take it off when I left the operating room. I didn’t realize why until recently.

We wore masks in the OR because they were supposed cut down on wound infections from pathogens in our mouths. This turns out to be false. But when my partners were presented with the evidence that we should stop wearing masks, they demurred. Masks were still useful virtue signaling. And they all still ripped their masks off the moment they could.

Wearing a mask does nothing in the absence of social distancing...there is no study anywhere that states otherwise...and wearing masks discourages social distancing...the evidence is abundant. Social distancing is the only thing that can make a difference and it is not sustainable on any level that would make a difference. We will have to eventually face these cold hard truths and accept the fallout.

Well said!!

In a lab you can prove a mask reduces spray from a sneeze or cough.

However, the real world is not a lab.

I doubt anyone would categorically state that a mask does not reduce spray from sneezing and coughing....the crux of the problem is that it doesn't take much spray to become a problem and masks allow some to escape...if you are alone in the woods this is not a problem...if you are in an airplane it is a problem for those around you. Unfortunately staying alone in the woods for 18 months is impractical. In the absence of a vaccine which actually works a lot of people are going to die...all of the measures we have and are taken are only staving off the inevitable if somehow that vaccine does not come along. Herd immunity will slow the death rate but when that happens who knows.

Yes

That’s why surgical masks were invented years ago or do you think doctors wore them as a fashion accessory

To be honest I could care less if they worked. At least it covers up your fat fricking face

Not positive. Even if it helps 20 percent why be a dick and not wear one..

While I take your point speeding is far more dangerous to those around us when driving...yet most of us do it on a regular basis. We are being dicks in this scenario because we are dicks...we are human....we don't really give a tinkers damn about one another...hell we don't even make sure our kids get a decent education and when we get old we take money from the pockets of young people so we can run around the country in a motor home. Man is a dick....all of us...

bullshite!
Unless the surgical suite is completely quiet, masks prevent spittle from entering the surgical wound, or contaminating surgical instrumentation.

You're claiming otherwise? Can you cite a single medical world-wide location performing surgery with out a mask?

A: I don't have the faux-vid.
B: A virtue signaling face cover is not gonna do shite to slow the spread of any virus.
C: my body my choice

I read a bunch of crap about the efficacy of cloth masks this weekend and I didn't save any of it. The TL;DR version of it is the water droplets which escape when we breathe and talk are as small as 100 microns (there was a source I promise) and the openings of cloth mask fibers are as large as tens of microns. Thanks to the highly political nature of this virus it was hard to find data I could trust but I did find this study which doesn't directly address the question but suggests what I've said above and was published in 2010.

Oxford Academic

Basically the masks work against water droplets and the virus can only escape our bodies in dangerous amounts by riding water droplets. Now if they discover the virus can be aerosolized it is WAY too small to be trapped in a cloth mask.

I still don't wear the masks lol.

Sweden says the masks make things worse. It is kind of hard to tongue those beautiful Swedish women with a mask on.

On the surface it makes sense. However, I bet in reality it wouldn't make a statistically significant difference.
