I think there is a good opportunity to land a body blow to Mitch with this bipartisan border deal.

He has come out in strong support of the bill. If a significant number of Republican senators vote against it, that is a clear sign of his waning influence and power.

He most likely will but it will be with very tepid support and there will probably be significant challenges to his leadership, somewhat akin but more cordial than McCarthy’s Speakership.

Then we need to keep electing better Republicans and get rid of Thune. Republicans should start with every senator that votes for the border bill. Replace them with better Republicans.

I'd say since he has basically had mini-strokes on camera a handful of times he is done.

I don't see what drives these people to work until their last breath but it isn't normal.
