Like I posted earlier I was in Kunar province at FOB blessing for 14 months during my afghan stint. I know that place is one of the most dangerous areas of the country and we took fire daily. But I also heard south Afghanistan was extremely dangerous as well. Is that true?

Personally, glad I went for several reasons. But to your question - No.

Nope. We accomplished Jack shite with the exception of getting thousands of service members killed or severely injured.
I was there 2003-2004.

I was also there when this went down and got to watch the rangers rescue attempt via their head cam. This was one of the most tragic things I have ever seen. That poor British journalist got kidnapped, we located her roughly 3 days later and sent those guys in, and she ended up being killed by our own peoples grenade.
Really loved seeing that happen live

Tragic thing about this thread is you can read a lot of the pain not just for those that served but the ones they served with.
And not a fricking word from the lifeless souls from the Neocon crew wanting war with Iran in this thread.
Those pusses always want someone else to do the fighting for them.
If you served in those deserts; God bless you!
