When the regime starts publicly beheading protestors, we’ll see how long it takes for the protests to fizzle out.

If Democrats (Biden/Obama) were in power, they would be getting pallets of cash and other help and the opposition wouldn't get jack.
We need to avoid war, but I wouldn't mind giving some more payback to the Iranians for the IEDs they shipped to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Send the rebels weapons and starlinks.

There's only two ways the theocracy in Iran falls:
1. Outside intervention to help the general population. This could be in the form of direct military involvement (e.g. Pakistan) or by taking out a large number of IRGC/clerics by assassinations/strikes (e.g. USA, Israel)
2. The military turns on the IRGC in lieu of that outside intervention.
The IRGC has no qualms about mowing these protesters down. If they really did take an IRGC base, and I have my doubts, they will make the classic case of concentrating there and it will become their prison unless army units defend them.

Businesses, universities and government offices stayed closed on Wednesday across most of Iran under a government-ordered shutdown, as the president struggled to address public frustration that has fueled mounting protests over the faltering economy and the government.
The one-day shutdown in 21 of Iran’s 31 provinces, including Tehran, the capital, came as President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday appointed a new central bank chief, the former economy minister Abdolnaser Hemmati. The president acknowledged that it was an “extremely difficult and complex” role that would subject the new bank head to intense pressure and criticism, according to state news media.

Not that complicated. The RG has the actual power. Mullahs have nods.

The ayatollahs will crank up the massacres until they get control. They aren’t going anywhere as long as they can slaughter the population. This will end up like all the other “uprisings “;
There are armed troops crossing the border and they are not speaking Persian.
Some massacres taking place. Hopefully, the US and Israel land some strategic strikes against more than missile sites.

Iran is an ally of China, is this good for us?
They aren’t true allies. Did China help Iran during its conflicts with Israel? China would never go up against the West just for Iran.

Where do you think Chyna gets most of its oil?
Chyna walks a tight ripe and helps in discreet ways. They may not be friends but Chyna dies not want Iran to fall.

I'm sure the Iranians will send you apologies for offending you.

The RG has the weapons and the willingness to use them. Unarmed protestors don’t stand a chance against them. It would be a slaughter. The regime will not be overthrown and there will be a harsh crackdown.
