I just heard this on the radio. I have no link but I will find one and supplement OP.

The main point of this thread is - Benjamin Netanyahu is an elected leader of a sovereign nation. I’ve admitted that I can’t get myself riled up about this war, but if forced to pick teams, I pick Team Israel.

My question is: What authority does some fake arse international criminal court have to arrest ANYBODY? Who elected them? Who gave them any power over anyone, much less power over a country and the people who run it. Countries are not organizational units of the WEF, Klaus.

How can this shite actually ever fly? You’re telling me that if I elect a President of the USA and some globalist nobody ever elected or even heard of can arrest him and try him before a court and do what- send him to jail? order the USA to change its policies. I’d even side with the current POTATUS if some NWO a-hole tried to arrest him.

No fricking thank you, Klaus and the gang. You ain’t the boss of me.

Don't worry Israel has already ordered AIPAC to order our Congress to do something about it.

I just read the CNN link I posted and it makes me more pissed off.

The US needs to just tell Bibi to put that unenforceable shite into a shredder or whatever this blob of a fake court is, will turn this weapon on our own president.

Seriously. frick them.

The only people getting arrested should be Hamas and the people who need to be dealing with them are the Israeli military tribunals

That's fine if you hate the UN, ICC, etc., but you can't complain when the rest of the world thinks that the U.S. and Israel make up their rules-based international order as they go along.

The rest of the planet sees this conflict differently than the U.S., U.K., and Israel. Maybe we're the brainwashed ones?

Is this literally the first time you've heard of the ICC?

This is based on the Rome treaty.

It's primarily been used for African warlords and Serbians.

Well Putin listend to them when they issued an arrest warrent for him.

quote:

Today, 17 March 2023, Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court (“ICC” or “the Court”) issued warrants of arrest for two individuals in the context of the situation in Ukraine: Mr Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Ms Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova.

quote:

Mr Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, born on 7 October 1952, President of the Russian Federation, is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation (under articles 8(2)(a)(vii) and 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute). The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes, (i) for having committed the acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others (article 25(3)(a) of the Rome Statute), and (ii) for his failure to exercise control properly over civilian and military subordinates who committed the acts, or allowed for their commission, and who were under his effective authority and control, pursuant to superior responsibility (article 28(b) of the Rome Statute).

The ICC has no enforcement mechanism other than relying on member countries for arresting. And guess what...

quote:

Israel and the United States are not members of the ICC. However, the ICC claims to have jurisdiction over Gaza, East Jerusalem and the West Bank after Palestinian leaders formally agreed to be bound by the court’s founding principles in 2015.

But wait, there's more!

quote:

The decision puts Netanyahu in the company of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, for whom the ICC issued an arrest warrant over Moscow’s war on Ukraine

How has that worked out thus far?

Forgive me if I don’t believe my nation’s sovereignty is subject to the whims of a bunch of bureaucrats based on “Rome Rules” passed by a bunch of law professors who represent no one.

Are you arguing that treaties are improper? Even though they're specifically mentioned in the Constitution?

Agreeing to that shite seems very unPutinlike.

Honestly, the people in this thread who think it’s a good idea to just hand over their sovereignty to a bunch of unelected bureaucrats who don’t even speak their language know and understand nothing about the constitution or national sovereignty rights.

I’m glad for once in the last 100 yrs we actually remembered where our balls were located.

A treaty that subordinates our sovereignty is unconstitutional and I do not believe is legal. frick that noise. We’re not governed out of Brussels or Davos or Rome or the United Nations by a bunch of foreigners we didn’t elect.

Moreover, per another poster, we RIGHTFULLY didn’t agree to it and aren’t part of this bullshite treaty.

Amal Clooney played key role in ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Hamas leaders

Amal Clooney is married to actor George Clooney, who will be featured at Biden fundraiser next month

quote:

Amal Clooney, wife of actor George Clooney, was among the experts who advised the International Criminal Court (ICC) in seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar over alleged war crimes.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, asked Clooney, 46, to assist him with evaluating evidence of suspected war crimes and crimes against humanity in Israel and the Gaza Strip, where Israeli military forces have been operating since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas.

"I agreed and joined a panel of international legal experts to undertake this task," Clooney, an attorney, said in a lengthy statement on the Clooney Foundation for Justice website.
