Surprising Medium Article

Saw this today and was shocked. Talked about a Dem who visited the NH Trump rally and switched to Independent. # walkaway is real. So is TDS.

My numbers might not be entirely accurate, but I think they said their were 55,000 people that wanted to attend Trump’s NH rally. 20,000 people were registered Democrats and 17,000 people had not voted in 2016.

I still think Trump will win 350+ EVs.

This will be a slaughter

Not a chance. You really need to go visit the west coast to understand just how deep the TDS goes.

No way Trump wins CA, OR, WA, VT, NY, MA, CT, RI, VA, or CO. Probably a few others.

It won't be a landslide like the poster above things, but it will also be nowhere near as close as you think it will be.

People are tired of the progressive bullshite, and the Kavanaugh hearings and impeachment clown show has pissed off a majority of independents.

And i would counter that an equal number of people are tired of being taken on a twitter-induced roller coaster every other day.

You are bubbled as frick if you think this is a cake walk victory for either party.

And you need to pay attention to people's view on the economy and how this country is doing.

Your average American doesn't give a frick what buffoonery trump is posting on twitter. They don't even follow twitter.

Get out of your social media bubble. Most people don't give two fricks about it.

I do? By almost any metric, it is doing well. I would say the economy is what is keeping trump's numbers up.

I am. This is the only place I social media, and it is far from representative of my politics.

I would say it is a fairly equal number of those that do and don't, which is why it is going to be close. I don't think that is ground breaking analysis or even that controversial of an opinion.

People quitting the Dems and jumping to the GOP, doesn’t mean they aren’t leftists anymore. They’re here to vote like leftists and move the party that direction. No thanks. Go form a new party.

It’s equivalent to Cali natives moving to Texas and continuing to vote the ways that ruined Cali.

Not really.

330 million twitter users globally. At least a quarter of those are bots, if not more.

The majority of this country doesn't give a shite about twitter.

Exactly. I'm one of them.
I'm tired of hearing about it on the news. Being discussed at press conferences. Having policy announced through it along with sick burns and dumb videos.

You cant avoid it, even if you dont tweet.

A twitter-induced roller coaster?

Only people that live and die by twitter politics would think that. Your statement is actually pretty telling.

Is he going to win in a landslide? Probably not.

Is he going to win? I would say the chances are very much in his favor at the moment.

I'd bet that the majority of people here only see his tweets because people post them on the board. Other than that, no one would know.

How is that any different than what I said initially? i dont think the dem candidate cruises to victory, and there are certainly people amongst my party that feel that way.

im not discounting his chances, but you guys are pretending like his numbers havent been there or thereabout 45-49%, at best, his entire term. why would the vote for re-election be any different? its going to be close.

Ok man. we can just pretend that when he tweets it doesnt make news. we are not on the precipice of another impeachment inquiry because he sent an unnecessary tweet at 2 in the morning for a situation his AG, apparently, already handled independent of the POTUS.

The majority of people see them on whatever news they happen to watch.

The number of twitter users is immaterial as all the news channels show his tweets all day, everyday.

It's how he communicates with the people and it's pretty effective.

eta-If there were only 1000 people on twitter the results would be the same as long as the news reports them. It's not like he is engaging with people on the twitter.

Anecdotal, but I have family members that were bleeding hearts before the Kavanaugh hearings. They became full blown MAGA during those hearings. I'm pretty sure they're in the Q thread now.

So in addition to pushing independents further to the right, they've also exposed themselves as frauds to many liberals that take the principles of their beliefs seriously.
