When people heard "stop fraud in government" they heard "end fraudulent entitlement claims and government contractors stealing money" not "fire park rangers." However the latter is the time-tested scheme from the GOP to atrophy the general public facing portion of the government anytime they get a chance.
These are just talking points. The question I have is whether or not you grasp that these are just talking points.
The National Park Service budget has increased by ~50% in 5 or so years (like many department budgets). The government can’t continue to hemorrhage money.

Most people understand that to take out a problem like fraud, you have to take out the issue of bloated first. It makes it easier. I can explain why if needed, but it may be lengthy.
And I’m sure there is a fair argument to be had. However, the broad public is not going to parse it that way on the balance. Thus the problem where Trump’s addresses can be broadly popular but his overall approval ratings are trending downwards. Trump’s success has been messaging where people hear what they want to hear in a way no other politician on the right seems to be able to capture. There has and will continue to be a disconnect between Trump on the Stump and Trump at the Resolute Desk with the general public.

I didn’t see the speech, but what I’ve read is that it was good. However, the polling has to be taken with a grain of salt, because the Trump fans are much more likely to watch, so the polled cohort is heavily Trump biased.
A better barometer will be the Presidential popularity polls over the next two weeks. Hopefully they go up.

The public is only parsing what the media is feeding them. “All the nice fellas working at NPS were fired!!!! Why does Trump hate their families!!??!! Why does he want Yellowstone to be a garbage national park??!!??”
You can try to gloss over this part of what’s happening. It doesn’t mean it’s not happening. No mainstream media outlet will seriously address the explosion in Federal spending that was bad in 2000, went into high gear in 2008 and added turbo boosters in 2020.

I can't really wrap my head around that.
You can't wrap your head around the fact that democrats for the last 4 years have pushed that cross dressers, sex change surgery, dei and open borders is normal?
They fricking basically made that the party platform and said frick everything else.

I'll take a liberty and expand on my earlier thoughts.
The genius of whomever wrote this address for Trump is that he/she hung all the most stupid leftist shite around the Democrats' collective neck like an albatross.
They knew that whatever Trump was for, they would be against. So Trump delivers his speech and now has them dying on the hills of trannies in girls sports, DEI, gang member illegals, and other forms of woke nonsense. For all of his limitations, Trump has painted them in a corner of idiocy.

quote:Help me out here. When did he mention the tax cuts “for the rich”? Why do you clowns keep repeating this falsehood ad nauseum? I seem to recall him mentioning tax cuts for everyone. You know, like he did in his first term.
People like the populism, they don't like austerity and tax cuts for the rich.

Democrats have a massive problem
I'm on a text thread with longtime friends, a couple of them are center left... Even they were pissed at the Democrats and how they were acting. If I had to choose one of them that was the most lib, he was really pissed that they didn't even clap for the boy that had brain cancer... and Klobuchar was caught rolling her eyes while the dad was lifting the boy up and people were applauding.
I love that the Dems are just doubling down on stupid and hateful.

Common sense wins in the end and unless the democratic party reads the room and admits this then they are a dead party moving forward in America.

Not necessarily true. The libs HATE him so much and are so obsessed with their hate for him, they can't help but tune in so they can seethe and yell at the TV. Every angry TDS lib I know was on facebook etc. crying during the whole thing and after.

Yeah, and that problem was escorted out of the chamber last night. His name is Al Green. I can't believe people from Houston would support a person like that. I know Houston is liberal, but damn.

And don't forget that arresting, convicting and imprisoning criminals--even repeat violent criminals--with dark complections is... "racist."
