Covid 67k in 2 months. Probably gonna be 150k+ for the year (March to feb)
Which wouldn't even come CLOSE to justifying the economic damage inflicted.

And will account for plenty of deaths on the back end that need to be taken into account. Particularly in developing countries.

And over 1/3rd of those deaths in one state. But sure, let’s keep the entire economy shut down indefinitely.

I would point out that while the economic damage in the U.S. is horrendously out of proportion, the economic damage to weaker economies around the world is going to make it look like the U.S. experienced a boom.

That's one of the really intriguing things to me about this whole discussion. For my entire adult life, I've been beaten over the head by the left because I supposedly don't care about the little guy in the U.S. enough or the poor around the world.

Well the approach to this virus is a COMPLETE TRAIN WRECK for those two groups of people and as near as I can tell, most on the left can't even bring themselves to discuss it. It's like their personal well being doesn't matter at all.

What is the 2009 #? I believe something important happened that year that was similar to what is happening now.

The impact that this will have on the 3rd world is essentially incalculable at this point. Weeks ago the U.N. was already suggesting that there could be hundreds of thousands of child deaths in the 3rd world and much higher infant mortality rates. The whole "if it can save one life" mantra doesn't fly when we're killing off innocents in the 3rd world as a consequence. Are that consequence at least at needs to be acknowledged as an amicable trade off that they agreed to.

Hell, the WHO said it was likely to push HALF A BILLION people worldwide into poverty and when the WHO uses the word poverty, they ain't talking about the U.S. brand of poverty. They're talking about REAL poverty. That's the kind of poverty that kills people.

And, ya know, I'm reasonable. I'm willing to accept people on the left saying they still think the we should go full nutso on this thing. But, the fact that the the right are the ONLY ones talking about the little guy and the worldwide impact on the poor is just mind boggling to me.

But, it really shouldn't surprise me I suppose. Liberals are also the ones who constantly talk about how "ugly Americans" don't understand X,Y or Z country and are inconsiderate of the fact those places have different belief systems...……….and then...……..promptly, show COMPLETE disregard for the reality that the same can be said from one state to another.

It's honestly hard to come up with anything the left routinely beats us over the head about that they seem to REALLY believe other than situationally.
